Try here. It doesn't really answer your question, other than to say cillit was already in use as the name for household polishes in Europe and that 'Bang' is to emphasise what the products do. Nevertheless I found the info on the ads interesting. (I know, I'm sad). BTW, I've tried the product and I think it's useless - I prefer Mr. Muscle!

For anyone who is not from England, Cillit Bang is a "wonder cleaner" a powdered cleaning product that is supposed to be able to be used to get pennies clean and get rid of stains on clothes and 101 other different uses, as for the name I can only suppose that the person who thought of it was either very drunk or high on drugs at the time

I believe you one hundred p.c. no longer something might make purchase the product after an awful advert like that. the different week somebody knocked on my door attempting to sell me double glazing (why do they do this while they are able to verify you have already got it) and while he stated the call of the corporation I basically laughed. there is an advert on the television approximately double glazing and in case you purchase one you get one unfastened, I say in case you purchase one you get one unfastened. I balk now while i think of of the advert and that i very courteously advised the salesperson that i did no longer desire double glazing and besides i would not purchase from his corporation with the aid of fact the advert became awful. the salesperson basically advised me that every person he talks to says that, so I spoke back nicely bypass the counsel onto your corporation and that they'll exchange the advert! Sorry it is my little rant over with to boot, thank you for listening.
