If you don't want to wash them separately, you better make sure you are using similar colors to avoid bleedage that will haunt you. Cold detergents work fine and you will likely be okay. Turn the new shirts inside out when you wash them. This will help to protect decals or what ever on new shirts from going awry on you. Good luck.

Your best bet for a little while is to wash your new shirts seperately especially if they are colorful. You could try washing them in cold, but I wouldn't chance it, because you don't know if the colors will bleed or not. Depending on the type of material they are you may get away with it. If you had any new shirts that were all white, you could wash them with your whites and they should be okay. But take it from someone who has done laundry for 38 yrs., you don't want to risk your new shirts bleeding into your old shirts. Once they are washed a couple of times, then you can incorporate the new ones with the old ones.
Tide is a wonderful product, as a rule, but I don't know how that cold water Tide works.

don't know about the tide but yea the cold water should keep them from running, try turning them inside out that is supposed to help, also as soon as the washer is done get them out, don't let them sit in there wet, tends to run then
