My Granfather-in-law spent the day sitting on my leather sofa. He apparently craped in his drawers while he was there and now my sofa smells like $#@!! It is so bad my male dog decided he had to mark his territory! Please help me get the smell out!

Does anyone know of a product like a brush-on enamel that can be used on stove tops? The enamel is flaking off on my stove top, and the few products I've found says not to use them on surfaces that get hot. My stove looks ugly, and I can't afford to buy a new one right now.

I would like to have the walls a reddish-orange color... almost a rust or terra-cotta color. What other colors would go with it?

Is it unhealthy to be spraying disinfectant all the time when you clearly know that a person in your house is going to the bathroom and not washing their hands. What are other things I can do to prevent getting dealthy ill,( I spray, I bleach,I clean) this really disgusts me and I feel like im going insane and need to put a sign above the toilet saying wash your damn hands you filthy pig.

I live at home, so can only really redecorate my own bedroom. I was looking on Yahoo! about Feng Shui and thought it'd be cool to bring some luck and love into my life by having a fish bowl in my room. Some people say 6 gold, 1 black fish, some say 7 gold and 1 black goldfish. Does anyone know for sure?

I was also reading some other answers/tips about Feng Shui and a person said not to put water features in your bedroom like an aquarium.

That puts a damp on my idea of putting a fish tank in my room.
Is it true that gold fish need 5-10 gallons of water each? That is an awful lot! Maybe 2 gold and 1 black goldfish is okay?

Love your opinions and expertise!

It has 2X4 studs. I have 6" insulation that I was going to separate into 3". Also I was going to use 7/16" OSB. Any other suggestions. I live in NE Wisconsin, and it is a 2 and 1/2 detached garage. I am looking at slowly, but surely, finishing off the garage and perhaps getting a pellet stove later.

This is a long winter coat made out of pure wool. It says to take it to the dry cleaners but i know it'll be expensive and i don't think they will get the smell that i don't like off of it. the smell is like that "it's been sitting in the closet for about two years with no air!" smell.

anyway i have tried febreez and putting it in the drier wich normally works for those days that i need to wear something that hasn't been tot he clleaner but its just not doing it on this jacket.

Mind you its a very heavy and thinck jacket so i keep thinking washing it on delicate won't hurt it to much but i figured i'd ask firt.

what do you think?

I laid the tiles in '98 never having done any tiling before. I did a pretty good job all round EXCEPT for the grouting. I'm thinking about having another crack at it by applying new grout but want to know if I need to dig the old stuff out. ... and how do I do that? Use an angle grinder? How do I avoid chipping the tiles?

Please help me! It is in the negative temps here and my washing machine is leaking all over! I have at least 12 loads to do. The washer has not been used in 8 months and is up against an outdoor facing wall. Could the pump or valves be frozen and if so, what is the remedy? A plumber or appliance guy? I am at a loss.
My neighbor told me hers and her mother's are "frozen". What does this mean? Can anyone help me understand this? It is so freaking cold here, I just cannot believe it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My husband and I went away for a while, and he swore he made sure to throw away anything that would go bad in the fridge while we were gone. Well, low and behold, we come back and the fridge smells AWFUL! Turns out he left raw chicken breast in the bottom of it... I won't even open it now, because I can't stand the smell. I even went so far as to buy one of those citrus-scented deodorizers that suck up the smells, made for a whole house, and put it in there. How, now the fridge smells like an rotten lemony-orange chicken, and that thing is totally defunct. Any ideas for (hopefully quick!) deodorizing of my fridge???
