My Granfather-in-law spent the day sitting on my leather sofa. He apparently craped in his drawers while he was there and now my sofa smells like $#@!! It is so bad my male dog decided he had to mark his territory! Please help me get the smell out!

How can I clean it without ruining the leather. And for those of you who think this is just too ridiculous...I assure you the horror is real!

Find a pro.cleaning product sales, sometimes in like a swimming pool chem. store, Buy an antimicrobial or a leather cleaner that has live enzymes. There may even be an antimicrobial "saddle" soap for leather. These live enzymes literally consume the bacteria that cause biological odors. Try some thing cheaper? Use baking soda in a cheese cloth. just lay it on the spot and leave it a few days it will soak up the odor. There are also pet stain products. Be sure and read all the cautions.

Leather does not naturally harbour odours. Therefore the smells are usually due to the insides of the suite ie. the cushions etc. If you can get to these and clean them you will find it a lot better.

I would not recommend using febreeze on leather as it may contain chemicals which will break down the finish on the leather.

Call a professional company to clean the couch, or consider getting a new couch.

I can't even imagine sitting or sleeping in the same spot with that stain imbeded inside the couch.

We've got a tomcat that's pissing on our sofa. He's getting his n**s cut next week. There are some good deodorants designed to remove odor not just cover it up. Try a pet department or a vet. Look in a pet magazine. I worked in a nursing home. If you didn't get to your patients in time they would be playing with "mud pies" and eating "desert".

There are several leather cleaners that you can get. The one thing you can do is air it out outside. Good Luck.

You need to get a special leather cleaner - maybe even hire someone to come into the home.

Try wiping the area with unscented baby wipes. If it's suede, it may stain, but I've always used baby wipes to clean my purses, leather coat and shoes (all regular leather, not suede).
