Ok, its pretty bad weather in upstate NY right now. Luckily I have power but my family members lost power and may not have in it in their area for a while. In their house they have a fireplace but used up all their dry seasoned wood. Our house has tons of boxes, packaging peanuts and newspapers in the basement but theyre unsure if its safe to burn it. Also what else could they burn for heat. They live in a wooded area but certain trees your not supposed to burn. Also how about particle bored or anything else that would be in a house they could burn for heat.

Any tips would be helpful thanks !

What is the average cost of installing a stand up shower in a bathroom that does not previously have one. We are buying a house soon and want to know the cost difference between having one already in the house or installing a brand new one later in a house we like that has no stand up showers.

I was defrosting my freezer and I had to get it done right away, so I was tapping the ice lightly with the claw of my hammer. I suddenly heard a hissing sound and white air came hissing out. After getting the rest of the ice out of the way I found I had punctured a small hole the size of a pencil eraser in the freezer. I closed it up the best I could right now with glue and some freezer putty but I am sure it won't hold long as the air coming out of the freezer is strong enough to push past the putty. Also I am not sure if it was the glue, the putty or the air, but something put a light coating of something white on my fingertips and it won't come off. Help please! I am also pregnant and need to know if breathing that air was harmful!

My boyfriend and i are looking for land to buy to put a house on. His dad works at a manufactured homes company, and he can get us a really nice house with two living rooms, three baths, and three bedrooms at cost for about $70,000 which is GREAT for around here. Most homes around here this size are about $100,000-$130,000. The only problem is that we have to find land to build on. We are completely new at this, we live in an appartment at the moment. Where can i go, or where can i look to find open lots? A realtor? Online somewhere? How did you find your land?

I am having this debate with my girlfriend. I say the point of ironing is to have a nice creased shirt (on the sleeves mainly). but I don't know I only today just started ironing my nice shirts. She claims that the reason for ironing is to get rid of the creases. She does not like the look(on the sleeves). what do you say world, tell me your opinions on ironing! (also we both understand we want to eliminate wrinkles)

I live in a studio apartment (very small one room) and my electric bill is 40-45 dollars a month!! I don't keep lights on, I keep my shades closed, all that so I have no idea why it would be so high--I'm in college so at classes a lot as well, my friends barely pay that much and they live with other people. The highest amounts are: Generation Services, Fuel Factor, Distribution Services, if that matters at all but I have no clue what those are.
