My boyfriend and i are looking for land to buy to put a house on. His dad works at a manufactured homes company, and he can get us a really nice house with two living rooms, three baths, and three bedrooms at cost for about $70,000 which is GREAT for around here. Most homes around here this size are about $100,000-$130,000. The only problem is that we have to find land to build on. We are completely new at this, we live in an appartment at the moment. Where can i go, or where can i look to find open lots? A realtor? Online somewhere? How did you find your land?

Yeah, we do put the cost of the land into account, but we haven't found land yet, so we are not yet sure how much it will be.

you can look in your local paper under land, or its best to get a realtor. you want a level lot so your foundation wont cost much. you want to have water and power to the property. you want to make sure you have deeded access to the property, / just in the event it is off the main road/ and depending on the location weather you need a well and a sepic tank. these things can add thousands of dollars to the cost. all this a realtor can help you with. as a last resort drive around the area you want to live and see whats for sale, then make offers

you can bet it won't find you!.... you have to go where it is!

if none around you, then look out further...., maybe find a burned down house on a lot, if rural, you'll probably need 1 acre for septic system. you can always buy more!
