I am building a shower room in my house and I would like to be able to paint the walls rather than tile them. I have tried google, but I can't find anything. Can anyone help? Thanks in advance!

I am a tile contractor and painting tile is generally not a good idea. The finish on a tile is made to be the finish you see. If you want to change the look its best to change the tile. 1 thing you might look into is at Home Depot, and it is a coating for bathtubs and sinks. I am pretty sure that the only color is white, but that would hold up a lot better than any kinda of paint. I have refinished a couple of bathtubs with it, and it works great. Its basically a porcelain coating. Try looking into it...

there are several kitchen and bathroom paints on the market, made by Dulux Crown and Focus own brand. They are meant to cope with water and steam. It would be advisable to wipe the walls down after taking a shower as you would with tiles. Hope this helps.

Yes there is a water proof paint, try you local swimming pool shop. I wouldn't recommend it though, maybe limited with colours, for example white & blue. other wise get a expensive exterier paint. Tiles will look better

Two part epoxy will stand up to this treatment. I'm unsure about adding M-1 mildew preventative to epoxy, but if you can, do!

Always use a proper mask for filtering VOC's when using epoxy. Know that it will seep in through your eyes. Take frequent breaks and watch for any adverse reactions.
