My office gets way too hot compared to other offices in the same building. Yhe heating duct is an industrial type with a small hole in the middle of a 2 X 2 grid, and 4 screws on each corner that seem to rotate the directional flow of the air.

Is there a way to close off the air or to minimize the air flow? Even with a flashlight I can't well see into the air duct overhear.

We cut it down ourselves at a christmas tree farm so it's fresh. I think it's a pine or spruce. It's the kind of tree you see all over the place as Christmas trees. Anyway, why doesn't it smell? can i do something to make it smell more? Also, any hints on making the tree last longer?

Hi-

For the first time ever I have a cleaning woman. She is working for an Ukranian woman/company. I pay the company $65 every two weeks (she cleans every two weeks) and she is here for about 5 hours. I do not know what her cut is. I tip her an extra $5 per week because i specifically asked for her because she ORGANIZES my messes and doesn't just clean around them-

How much do you think that I should give her for a Christmas tip?? I did find an Ukranian Christmas card too- and also- she speaks little English. i wanted to maybe make her up some flashcards of the things she may want to ask for especially. (i was clueless when she tried to tell me that she needed a sponge) do you think that this is something she would like or take offense to?

Help!

thanks!

To stop mosquitoes breeding in farm water tanks I think something was put on top of the water and it floated stopping the mosquitoes breeding cycle. I can't remember what it was and I am not sure if this stuff would adversely impact on the fish in the fishpond. I am also not sure if running the waterfall more would interupt the breeding cycle of the mosquitoes.

and though I got most of it off, there are a couple drops just inside the lip of the disk drive. I'm concerned about it scratching CD's, or even getting knocked back inside. Does anyone know of a way to get it out? Nothing's in there deep, just a couple spatters in the front. I just don't want to knock it inside the computer.

i want to install four short hand rails leading from 2 eight ft openings into a sunken living room. each rail will only be 24 inches long and about 30 inches high. one end of each will be attached to an interior wall, the other end is what i am asking about. the rails and post will be made from some 2x3 inch oak and mounted on a concrete floor. my original plan was to drill into the concrete floor beneath the outer post (beside the opening) and install some type of bolt into the concrete (about 3inches??) then drill a matching hole in the bottom of the post and slip the post over the bolt to make it more sturdy. i know this sounds complicated but i don't want it to give or sway when someone holds it to step up/down, and i want to stay away from the metal brackets for mounting on concrete if possible. thanks and have a MERRY CHRISTMAS

I love my cashmere and wool sweaters, but I hate when they start pilling. I've used disposeable razors in the past, but find they don't work too well. How do you do it? Do you know of a gadget that works well?
