I have a 100% cashmere sweater. I really don't have the time to take it to the dry cleaner. If I gently hand wash the sweater, would it be okay to place it in the dryer on the lightest mode?

I can put a finger on the heating element, but after 1-2 seconds, I have to take it off, it feels like a hot pan or iron. I would think this makes sense, but not over 1 day after I last ran it.

Also, last time it was run, it did smell odd, like a strange gas or something burning. I'd appreciate any thoughts! Thank you!

i normally do it the old fashioned way.i.e. hammer and 25mm ring shanks(takes ages and is boring as hell!) at 100mm centres.

I will need this for my project of retrofitting an old vanity for a bathroom. Thank you all for the input about retrofitting my old desk (which is actually an old 1930's vanity. I will definitely buy a real sink at a home improvement center and drop it in a hole cut by a template. You all had awesome ideas. Thanks for taking the time to answer my question.

the collar stretched out when I took it out of the washer. I thought when I put it in the dryer it would shrink back to normal size but didn't. :(

I've heard there is some good linoleum on the market today. Can it compare to laminate? (I think tile would be out of my price range)

I recently planted about 20 winter pansies in window boxes, which had previously contained marigolds. Despite the mild weather, and ensuring that they were not allowed to totally dry out, only 4 have survived. Could it be that the previous flowers somehow affected the new ones?

I live in an apartment and 1 week and 3 days ago we got a bunch of snow and ice...all the snow is melted but there is still 2-4 inches of ice in the parking lot...It's only like that on the side where I live I have feel 3 times with my 2 children who are 2 1/2 and 8 months I have talked to the Apartment Manager 3 times and she said someone would come take care of it and they came out and sprinkled a bucket of sand on it. It is still there and we ordered pizza today and the deliver driver fell.....what else can I do and are they responsible for removing the ice?
