I want to know of some cheap and easy ideas to decorate my house with and make it unique and I need some conversation pieces in my house for when I invite my husbands family over here. I need some Ideas......if you have ANY please let me know........I am open to all advice....I need your help!! thanks

"found" objects are great for decorating. Go to your local thrift store, you may find a gold mine! I use interesting pitchers as vases for fresh or silk flowers. Look alongside the road on trash nights for windows with multiple panes, and hang them on the wall as frames for photos, dried flowers, handmade art, anything! any flat surface can be used for interesting little "collections", I have tall speakers in my living room that have pictures of my husband and myself, a couple of interesting fair sized stones, cool vases, just whatever. People always ask about them. Hang a pretty scarf over your curtain rods as a window topper. Throws on the couch and chair brighten up a room tremendously. Put a scarf over a lightshade...depends on your mood! Just have fun, and let your personality shine!

the easiest is to put up artwork of some sort.
faux-finish one wall in a couple of well used rooms (material is cheap, and not that difficult to apply, just follow directions on can)
my wife made a "family tree collage" with small photographs of her, the rest of the family (including pets), the cars and vans in use. then added some burlap and tree bark and put it alll in a barn- wood shadow box (the barn wood was from a sheep shed on the farm she grew up on) it is really a very nice piece of art and has been on the wall for 15 years.
sounds like fun, remember to let it be a fun project and it will be a smashing success, whatever it is that you decide to do.

What are you interested in?Like me for instance I like wicker I have alot of inexpensive baskets different sizes not all of them have things in them but for instance this time of year atleast one of them have cinnamon smelling pinecones I all collect glass bowls so I have alot of them around the house.I also love candles and picture frames the picture frames are always a good conversation piece it gets the family talking especilly if you start asking if there are any family pictures of your husband that they could give you.
