I have twice as much lawn as I want to mow, and a tiny budget. I'm considering hardscape, mulch of all kinds, and plants of all kinds. What's cheap, expansive, no maintenance, and lovely? Ferns? Dendrons? Calling all gardeners! Thanks in advance.

We have a couple pieces of light oak colored furniture from Ikea and want to darken it to a deep cherry color. I believe it is pine and doesn't have a urethane coating. I don't want to sand it as I'm not positive if it is veneer. Are there any stain or rubs that can be used in this situation?

Hubbys b'day on the 7th. When should we store cards?
Oh, and if you could give me any cool ideas as to how we could store/display them that would be great - the local school made loads of handmade cards for him and it just seems a pitty to hide them in an old box - but I don't want them out all over the place either.

The noise is not constant, but every 20 seconds or so, it lets out a squeel that lasts for about 1 second. I checked the unit and the fan on the left side is spinning as it should. The noise is coming from the right. The noise started on one of the first cold night s of theyear. We are working the unit hard because our house is very drafty and without insulation for the next few days. It's set at 75 and only reaching 60.

Can an Old house possibly be so drafty that the furnace fan never stops and all 6 burners kick on after only shutting down for a minute or less? Almost continuous running and the fan never kicks off? What might be wrong or might I do? Already changed the filter, adjusted the flame. In flame adjustment, what am I shooting for also?

I really want to get my husband a table saw for Christmas but I have no idea what to look for!!! I want it to be a surprise so I can't grill him about the features he wants with it. He wants to use one for hobbies and to make some furniture (dressers, loft beds, etc.) He doesn't need a hefty duty one for large projects but doesn't want a cheap one either. Can some handy guy give me some help??

On a model sailboat, I've covered the entire hull in a light coating of marine epoxy. How can I darken the look of the wood? Regular stain won't work because the epoxy blocks the stain from penetrating the wood. After it's darkened, I'll apply Minwax Urethane to it. Thanks.

My nepenthes have two 6 inch long pitchers, but one is beggining to die. Starting at the leaf atop the pitcher ( hood), the brown has reached halfway down the pitcher. This happened to the other 25 it HAD on it too... IT now has over 15 new leaves with many baby pitchers, and last time I had babies, they browned after they got hal and inch long. What am I doing wrong? It doesn't dry out, but it doesn't STAY soggy. Is it a water issue? I believe it is. Please let me know if this is over-under watering, wrong soils, etc. PLEASE HELP!!!
