well stay away from Pier 1 and other over-priced decorating stores and stick to places like Target, and Walmart.
If you want some really funky stuff Hot Topic has some bedroom items.
Paint works wonders! If you're allowed to paint your walls pick an accent wall and paint it a bright funky color, like purple! Or get some stencils and paint a cool border.

Hi, On a 300 budget you should be able to decorate your whole room, try picking out some colours that you like from the paint sample section and compare them in your room, some places give you a 2 oz sample now too so you can see the actual colour on drying.

I think a hammock in the corner would be nice, you can usually find them in walmart or from someone who sells something like Regal from home.

If you would like lots of ideas of things that work, go to the Trading spaces website and look at some of the rooms that have been done, this way you can see the pics and approximate prices that you are looking at.

If you are girlish sometimes and Boyish other times, try making a bedspread or throw (if you can sew) with a girly pattern on one side and a boyish pattern on the other and choose paint that compliments both patterns. then you can change your room whenever you like by flipping the bedspread.

Good Luck! ;)

I don't know if you are into the 70s retro but this would be fun. This site shows a retro teen bedroom with lots of color. You can substitue the fushisa, turqoise and yellow for pink, green, and purple. You can use one of those colors as your paint color, depending on how wild you want to go. Use colored beads as curtains. Get a lava lamp. If you can get a poster of the original Mod Squad that would be great. If you don't know what tie dying, lava lamps or bead curtains are and you have never heard of the Mod Squad forget it and look for another idea.

For a girly idea, buy the material already made up to hang over your bed...It's netting with an opening..Pink or purple(Wal-Mart)
Buy a Gallon of paint for 1 wall, then use the same color on other walls as a chair rail only(you know, 1 wide stripe longwise)
Buy a green cord bedspread from J.C. Penneys (inexpensive) with same color pillow cases..........
Curtains are also in their big book would be green also....Inexpensive too....May have them on sale now like $20.00 a pair.....
Get a Purple small garbage can in your room.........Buy a Corkboard to hang on your wall.....then push pins for stuff....
Green alarm clock from Wal-Mart($10.00)...good luck

try delias.com
Also, you could take big pieces of canvas and hang them on your walls, put gesso on them, just like a painter would, then you can write, draw, have your friends write or draw on them with paint and markers, when they are full, you could take them down and roll them up, and put up new ones. That way if you change your mind, it is removable, and you can rotate them, different walls for different mood, seasons, friends, and you aren't stuck with something that you like now, and hate a year from now.
