If you have the lamp structure itself....the metal wire ringy thingy. I would say cut the pieces of some dried bamboo, not the fresh stuff into equal pieces....hot glue them to the top and bottom rings. Then to make it extra sturdy you can take some pieces of very thin rawhide strings and tie each piece to the rings ...I think it would look great

Its very strong; but it also splits and burns easily when you cut or drill it. Take your time, use sharp tools, and have some spare in case it splits.
Its wood so wood glue will work just fine. You can also stain and use coloured varnish.
A recipie for wood stain is 1 part enamel paint with 2 parts white spirit. Mix well, mix while using. Use 2 coats. It dries to a tough finish.

I have a bamboo lamp and its very strong. I found the catch is to make sure you either screw the bamboo together or use a fine florist wire after you glue it together for added strength. looks great ! good luck.

bamboo is stout stuff...i once did some painting in a home where one of the fire places was done in bamboo (instead of stone or brick or wood) the mantel and hearth and surrounding area, it
looked great. i don't think you will encounter any problems out of the oridinary. plan and design your project, and study your materials before starting.
