Pain & Pain Management - September 2007

I have fibromyalgia and want to buy one for my lower back but have no idea which one to get. Would like one that has longest lasting relief as don't want to get up and down due to other health problems. I'll be using it in a recliner.

It is recurrent, happening about 3-4 times a week, usually at night. What could this mean? This has been persistnet for about six weeks. Should I consult my doctor or just dismiss it?

I have what I think is a trapped nerve in the lower left bottom of my back-it has been there since yesterday and started off as a low backache-now the pain is going down my left buttock and all down the back of my left leg as well.It is getting worse and I have been in tears and screaming with the pain-what can I do?I have taken pills,used a heat pad,sprays and had a bath-none have even touched the pain.

I have worked in a bakery for 17 years. took a break from it for a while and just recently went back to being a cake decorator. About 3 weeks ago my back started hurting so badly that I am unable to function. I am able to go to work but I am in extreme pain. The Dr. will not see me till the 3rd of Oct. I cannot bend in the morning and wake up with a terrible backache. What do people do when they can't do the job that they have done all of their life? I have children to take care of and just can't stop working. But, I can't continue with this pain either. Any ideas?

I started feeling the pain days ago, I am soo worried because my testicles never hurt before. It started by swelling a little then now its paining but only when am walking. it feels heavier too.
When i touch it it also pains Especialy on the lower, bottom side.
my left teststicle is swollen and Hurts, what could be wrong?

following on from another question i posted yesterday,(does cracking knuckles cause arthitis?).I would like to know what the reason is for doing it is?i can only think its a stress thing?some days i crack mine several times and then wont do it again for several days/weeks.

I have a sore throat and a headache. I cannot tell if my tonsils are swollen I have no idea what is classed as swollen. I don't know what normal is. My temperature is very close to normal but my forehead feel warm.

would those elasticated knee tube things help by supporting the joint and keeping it warm or would they actually be a problem by restricting circulation and reducing the amount of exercise the muscles get?

I went to the doctor he said I have a viral infection,he gave me nothing to take ... but it's been 2 weeks, I feel unbalanced when I walk ,bad headache, can't sleep ,ears hurt....should I go back? I have a bad ear infection I think.

in my med. thingy. there this bottle that has pain relief on it and its 500 mg.! can that stuff get you high? or just **** your liver up real bad.. i know if u take alot of something it will **** it up anyways... but i just wanted to know cuz iam doing a paper thing on drugs in my house for school! so could u tell me if it does get you high or not....i need lots of info! thanks very much!

I take 80 mg oxycodone every 4 hours and I notice i get the chills all day. I am always hot/flush and seating but i am cold to the bone. I think this is very weird. The sweat will be pouring off my face, but i will be bundled up in a sweater or a blanket because i am so cold. Is this because pain killer dehydrate you. Will drinking more water help me?

I'm cramping soooooooo bad!!!!! I took three, 200 mg advil tablets one hour ago and I'm still in terrible pain. My lower back hurts, I feel hot, I ache, I'm weak, and I have no energy. I can barely even sit up!!! But here's the kicker... I'm at work!!!! I'm like slumped over in my chair typing this right now. What can I do to ease the pain until 5. It's only 3:20.
