I just had Achilles tendon surgery. It started out just like the pain you described then one day I was walking and it ruptured.
Snap, that's it. Six weeks in a cast and 4 months physical therapy.
Get it looked at by a doctor right away!! You don't want the results I had.

It does sound like a bone spur or maybe falling arches. They can cause amazing pain, but can be corrected with rigid arch supports from a good shoe store I got mine at HAPPY FEET.
They sell Burkenstocks. Good Luck finding the solution.
A podiatrist would probably be a good move.

Go see your doctor. My stepdad diagnosed himself with a bone spur, and he was wrong. His ligaments had gotten twisted somehow. They gave him a metal plate to put in his shoe, and it helped him greatly.
