Im always posting health questions for my father in hopes of finding out things that the hospital cannot tell us.
My father is 72, and overweight. Due to that, his feet are always swollen. But recently over the past few years, from about mid-shin length down about 4 inches, has turned reddish purple and has blister type bumps on it. The weird part about this situation is on the bottom where the color turns normal, it looks like a band, as in it looks like someone has tied a rubber band and only that section above his ankle to mid shin is like that. Doctors keep telling him that its bad circulation and it comes with old age and refuses to prescibe medicine, however none of his friends or same age group people have that. Someone please tell me whats going on?

For the last 6 years, my dads arms, from the elbow down has never been a normal color. This is from the viens in his lower arms leaking blood. We have repeatedly asked doctors what was wrong just to have them do blood tests but have no answer as in why. I have actually heard them tell my father that its because of old age. We have yet to find out what causes this and Im wondering if anyone knew.

My neice broke her arm (again). the first time she had a cast. She broke it tuesday afternoon and they took x-rays at the hospital that day. My sister had been trying to get her in to get a cast put on and she took her to an appointment today where they didnt even have her xrays to look at (diff place, diff city, but where she was refered to). She said the doctor was uncaring and said that it was broken but just barely in two places (how could he tell, he had no x-rays, just notes from what i was told) and said she didnt need a cast. Its just splinted. She has to wear her 6 year old sister clothes because it hurts her to wear her own. My question i guess is, is this right? shes 3, her arm is broken in two places, is it normal for a doctor to not put a cast on her? Is a splint good enough for this? my sister had medicaid, could that be a reason? If this is wrong, what can i do go get it corrected. I dont feel a 3 year old girl should be shunned by the system if this isnt right.

This morning as I was getting out of the shower, I was trying to take my goggles off at the same time and slipped. I hit my head on th toilet. It hurt for about an hour and then stopped hurting. It's 13 hours later and it has started hurting again. There is a large lump. Should I see a doctor?

I have a hole in the bottom of my foot, I have had to for a while and thought nothing of it. Everyonce in a while it would hurt. I have picked the skin from that area a few times, like I did today. After I had picked it, I could see that it was atleast an eighth to a quarter inch deep and in a perfect circle, not jagged around the edges. I examined it with a pair of tweezers, gently, of course. I and poked a spot that had cause blood to gush from it and stop within the second. I had my mother examine if after I had disinfected it and she said she doesn't have a clue how that would have happened.

I haven't a clue if I stepped on anything or not. I do not remember my foot being in enough pain for it to cause it but I would like to know if anyone knows what could cause this?

i was in an accident (car rear ended me from behind)..i had to go to the chiro for 3 months, and then had to go back for another 2 weeks when i started getting pain again. apparently the other party's insurance doesn't feel the 2nd session is connected because the chiro report said the "c2 disc" was treated the 1st time, and "c5 disc" or something like that was treated in the 2nd time. is it possible for 2 different discs to be aggravated at a later time? because the 1st 3 months was for my neck/shoulder pain, and the 2 weeks were more for my muscle tension in shoulder.

can someone inform me on Anything pertaining the discs?

thank you

Muscle Contusion Hasn't Gone Down?
I got a muscle contusion on my right thumb right where the joint is that goes tothe hand (according to the doctor at the ER) a little over a month ago. Thing is that it still hurts. To where i still can't write like I used to and hurts when I bend it. How long does a muscle contusion usually last. I want to go to the doctor and find out if maybe I really did fracture it, but don't want to waste the time and money if this is normal

I've been doing some stuff barefoot on this rough ground (like with those really tiny pebbles sticking out) and now there's a wound/cut there... and it really hurts. How do I know if it's a cut from a sharp object or a splinter? The wound is very small like about 2mm but it hurts when I walk...

I twisted my knee almost 3 years ago. I knew i tore a ligament, my leg swelled badly minutes after the incident. I could not bend my legs properly for the next 2 months.

For 1 whole year i could not kick a ball, At the end of the first year i started to play soccer again, but my knee felt weak, and i re-injured or re-twisted my knee for over 20 times for the next year.

After 3 years, i found that my knee became stronger, and i have not been getting any knee injuries for the past 7 months. I play soccer almost one, twice a week.

Can you tell me what is happening?

I have had knee pain for as long as i can remember. When i was younger it used to just be my whole legs. It switches off between both knees, and usually only effects one knee at a time. What can this be? It doesn't get swollen. Advil only works for short period of time. Heat usually helps.
