That is normal. You have a wound that is healing so there will be discomfort. What you have to watch for is the area becoming red with red streaks running away from it - this would mean an infection. If that happens, then obviously go see the doctor. Otherwise, a little swelling at the cut area is not necessarily a problem.

Get some hydrogen peroxide and use a Q-tip to dab the area where the stitches are. Then put some anti-bacterial ointment on it and a bandage. If the soreness and swelling hasn't gone away in a day, call your doctor. A lot of germs can get on your hands and you don't want an infection.

yes its normal to have some swelling, make suer you keep it clean and dry. take some acetomophen for some pain. if you see some fluid coming out of your wound or around the holes in your finger the stitches are you might have and infection. if this is the case i would go back to your physician

It may be the start of an infection if there is redness, oozing or swelling, but it could also just be pain from the stiches pulling or the trauma of having them placed.
