I have a hole in the bottom of my foot, I have had to for a while and thought nothing of it. Everyonce in a while it would hurt. I have picked the skin from that area a few times, like I did today. After I had picked it, I could see that it was atleast an eighth to a quarter inch deep and in a perfect circle, not jagged around the edges. I examined it with a pair of tweezers, gently, of course. I and poked a spot that had cause blood to gush from it and stop within the second. I had my mother examine if after I had disinfected it and she said she doesn't have a clue how that would have happened.

I haven't a clue if I stepped on anything or not. I do not remember my foot being in enough pain for it to cause it but I would like to know if anyone knows what could cause this?

I get checked for diabetes regularly, it is something my mother makes me do if I like it or not.

it may have been a plantars wart or deep callus. you can check out an informative website regarding foot care that also has a discussion forum with a doctor if the site doesn't help you out.

From whatever you have said, it seems like it is not serious.
But don't play with the hole. It might cause infection.
If the wound pains much after you take bath (when the hole is in contact with water/dampness), then what i guess is right.

There are excellent medicines in Homeopathy which will cure this in 2/3 weeks' time.

i have got this infection on the ball of my right foot (behind the big toe). It only hurt when I put pressure on it, and I learned to walk sort of off it. it now looks like puss covered underneath dead skin right under the bottom of my right leg. exactly same thing as conner mentioned above putting pressure on foot hurts. It happened because of the boots i used to wear now i am wearing sneakers because sneakers with soft bottom trying to think how to get rid of this thing.

Go to a doctor and get checked for diabetes. What you're describing is consistent with a foot ulcer which is a symptom of diabetes.

I'm surprised that you haven't already had a prime infection and not had gangrene yet.

Go see a damned doctor.
