My husband had done his morning streatch last week, leaning forward stretching out his left leg. Next day, he noticed back of his leg from knee down felt hard and painful. He since then has been limping, and the pain has not subsided and gotten worse. I noticed a bruise the size of a quarter behind the knee a couple days ago, and since then, the whole back calf has turned yellow. We were trying to treat it as a pulled muscle putting heat and wraps on it at home. I am in transition of jobs and our insurance has lapsed on my part, so we were right in the middle of getting back on my husbands insurance. NOW, this has happened, and we are fearing the worse....does anyone have any clue what might be wrong?? I am ready to take him to the E.R., and without our insurance in place, that will cost us big bucks, let alone what treatment / surgery he might need,, . HELP?????

I recently suffered a crush injury. Im in ALOT of pain. I have tenderness & bruising on my ankle/foot but my Doctor said "No obvious fractures". He also said, it is possible that a hairline fracture may not have been seen on the Xray. My foot was squashed between a pallet & a forklift, almost causing me to fall back. I am 100% certain i heard a crack. I felt instant pain & a burning sensation & couldnt walk properly & still cant, after 48hrs of the injury. How can i find out for sure if its fractured &, what is the treatment needed?

2 months ago i had an accident where I broke my right shoulder, fracture my back and i still have a lot of pain in the muscles of my neck.
i was hanging virtually from my neck for almost 3 minutes.
After the accident I noticed that my hearing is really bad and that i have a low but constant ringing and when i am esposed to a loud noise it get worse.
Can this hearing loss and ringing be caused by an accident? I did some research on internet but they dont mention anything about that.
thanks evrybody!!!!

Is there any way to make your skin turn black and blue without makeup or a real injury? Need to do it for a costume thing. Like is there some way to pinch you self or something and make your skin bruise. Just like how if you stand on one ankle for ten minutes it will swell.

It blew up to about the size of a fist within minutes, and hurt to walk on. This occured 4 days ago, and the size of the bump has reduced to about a golf ball. its mostly soft, I can press on it without it hurting a great deal, other then the bruising, which is minimal. I have been alternating icing it and putting heat on it and keeping the blood flow reduced as much as possible. How long should it take for the bump to go away? B4 I should be worried, I have read stuff about blood clots, or it could just be a shin injury and this is water/blood buildup to protest the shin bone. Any help in reducing my concern would be great, any remedies or help in getting rid of it asap would be great also.

okay, so i was eating toaster strudles this morning, and i always get the last bit of the icing in the little packages out with my mouth, and apparrently the edgas are sharp, because it sliced the inside of my mouth. Its right in the corner where my lips meet, but on the inside... its not even that deep, it just stings when mmy tongue hits it and isa damn annoying. does anyone know any ways to make it heal faster?

I was riding home late at night about a week ago and crashed. I got up back on my bike and went home. The next day, i couldn't touch it or it felt like someone was stabbing me in the knee! after awile it was fealing better, so i started to probe at it. It feals almost as if small pieces of (knee?) are in in there, and it is tottaly numb, unless you apply pressure. I can feal little creeks as I push on some of the pieces.

I'm afraid if I don't see a docter soon, it might heal wrong. But on the other hand, it might be something small that will go away after awile.

So back to the main question - What to do?

The other day i was bending down to unplug my computer when i lost my balance and when I went to brace myself my hand went on my leather chair and my thumb went right into the chair. My thumb did not bruise or swell up. Instead it just felt kinda stiff at the base of it. At first I thought I just stoved it, but other people said I jammed it. This happened on Monday and it is now Friday and my thumb feels like it is back to normal. There is one sore spot on the base of my thumb, but it is not very painful. I bowled on sat and and felt great with no pain at all. Is my thumb just bruised on the inside at the spot where i jammed it?

I can't really be bothered to go to the hospital if it's going to get better in a few days, but on the other hand i don't wanna make it worse. What signs should i be looking for?

I was in the hospital again recently, and I had three IV's, but only two were hooked-up to anything (Saline and Ativan, I think). The un-used one was just capped, and I heard the nurse mention something about a "hemocryque". Is that what it is, how do you spell it, what's it for, and why can't I find out anything about it online?
