Use a heating pad. It soothes the pain away to give relief. I have horrible back problems and have a heating pad at my couch and in my bed (not reccomended by manufacturers or medical folks to sleep with it but it works for me). Trust me, it makes a huge difference. Also ibprofen. Anything stronger takes a doctor prescription. If you haven't seen a doctor then do so. If you have a crushed or herniated disk it doesn't get better on its own. If you have to go to work those heat patches work well but they are expensive to use everyday. I know how miserable you must be. Good luck and I'll add you to my prayers.

Maybe you need medical attention. Find a doctor that you like and see what happens. If the start to talk about surgery get another opinion.

What kind of back pain is it? Why don't you give accupuncture a try. You'd be surprised at how well it works
