I was riding home late at night about a week ago and crashed. I got up back on my bike and went home. The next day, i couldn't touch it or it felt like someone was stabbing me in the knee! after awile it was fealing better, so i started to probe at it. It feals almost as if small pieces of (knee?) are in in there, and it is tottaly numb, unless you apply pressure. I can feal little creeks as I push on some of the pieces.

I'm afraid if I don't see a docter soon, it might heal wrong. But on the other hand, it might be something small that will go away after awile.

So back to the main question - What to do?

Answer to your main question: See a doctor.
Why?: I wouldn't think that you have actually shattered your patella (bone at your knee). Fractured? Probably. The fact that you have numbness lends me to believe that there is cutaneous sensory nerves damaged. Whether this is just from impact or from a piece of your patella. There's also the different tendons and ligaments surrounding and stabilizing your knee that you could have damaged as well. Bottom line: See a doctor and hope for the best.

Go to the doctor now. Why risk this sort of thing???? Even if it isn't shattered the knee has some delicate structures that can be damaged. You need evaluation by an expert!

If you can feel cracks on pressing your knee cap, if you have swelling around your knee, if you are unable to bend your knee because of pai, you definitely have a fracture. But why wait? Go to your GP or go to A&E and sort it out for ever

Call a freaking doctor. Do you really think that random people on Yahoo will give you better advice than a doctor?
