Just went through this with my son. First of all a meniscus will not heal on its own. In fact it will never heal because there is hardly any blood flowing through a meniscus. The tear has to either be sewn surgically, or they remove it, or get one from a donor. From all the people I have talked to, ones that have had the surgery they all say if you can live with it, do it. If you have it removed you will definately have arthiritis within 10 years. Even the doctor advises living with it, if at all possible. The internet is full of info. Just google torn meniscus. Good luck.

You should have an orthopedic specialist look at it and advise you. I had a torn meniscus repaired, as well as an acl replacement and I'm glad I did. You might save yourself other problems later too, like arthritis, so see that doctor.
