I am thinking of going into college for dentistry next year. I just had a couple questions to ask..
1. How long do you have to go to college for?
2. Do you enjoy your job?
3. Are your working hours easy?
4. What is the hardest part about being a dentist?

Thanks for the help!

my friend told me that some people get them (wisdom teeth) and some don't. We were wondering if people were more or less smart... maybe it has nothing to do with being smart or not but i would like to know. (^_^)

I brush twice a day and floss but they hurt like hell when I do. I am backpacking right now and won't be back in the USA till end of October. Is there anything I can do in the mean time to at least make them not get worse so I can go to a dentist when I get back?

I rinse my mouth out once a day with hydrogen peroxide because it makes your teeth whiter. It is less expensive to use and it works. Would you say this is safe?

Then when the numbing went away that day it hurt a bit which i thought was normal So then it was sensitive to Cold of course but when i tried eating a cheese steak today it really hurt it too and my tooth just is hurting like most the time now inless i take tylonal or somthing. Should it still be hurting 3-4 days after? or is that not normal should I tell my dentist? or what

I have braces. One ofmy wisdom teeth are slowly but surely coming in,and it's crooked. I went to the dentist a few weeks ago and they wanted them out asap. The only problem with that,is i went to my orthodontist and they said that it would be better to wait until I got my braces off, due to the healing better and the pain wouldnt be as bad, unless they started hurting me,well, the one that I have now is in fact starting to hurt me. Should I just go ahead and get them out now and take my chances on them not healing well?

I'm sure it's been asked countless times...
But how can i get my teeth to their whitest... I brush my teeth 2 times a day, i don't drink pop and rarely eat sugars... It's not like my teeth are YELLOW!! =P
But i just see people walking around with their nice and WHITE smiles and it makes me pretty envious...

Could it be that i have weak enamel? =(
If so how could i strengthen my enamel or just whiten my teeth in general =)

Hello, so few weeks ago, I went to a dentist to get a check-up on my teeth to get braces. I need to take out 4 teeth to properly mount the braces.I told her that I have thyroid problem and she told to me to find out and make sure that it's okay before i do anything with my teeth. Will there be any affects on my thyroid if i get braces? thanks

I am having 3 wisdom teeth out tomorrow AM and didn't want a gaping hole in my other molar showing (the one I use the temporary dental filling in), but it hurts after I put it there and I have to take the stuff out due to the pain. Is it painful because of the roots/nerves? ** Serious dentists/dental students or doctors only please. Thanks sooo much! :o)

My 10 y/o son has a "severe Overbite" per his dentist and said that an Orthodontist may even have to break his jaw to correct this. If this is done, is it done under a general? Is it an inpatient procedure or out patient? Is there anyway that regular medical insurance can be used to pay for this? I don't have dental but do have really good health insurance.

I've got a bit of a toothache in one of my bottom molars, it's been there a few days now, it's not REALLY bad, I've been taking ibuprofen which has helped, but it doesn't seem to be getting any better.

Thing is, I was only at the dentist in July and he said I didn't have any cavities, so what's causing this toothache? Is it possible that I've developed a cavity in this short a space of time? I've never had any problems with my teeth, never had any fillings etc.
