How horrible for you,I can't see why you haven't been offered just a check up. Anyhow, look in the local telephone book and see if there is a Dental Hospital or clinic near you, they should be able to help. You can also contact the British Dental Association for information and advise. It may well be worth asking your GP,not only for finding a dentist but also to help with your epilespy during treatment.
You have every right to recieve treatment, would any of the surgeries you called able to examine you and perhaps referring you to a specialist clinic for treatment,it's worth phoning back and asking. Good luck

Dan,
It's too bad the majority of dentists so far you've called are so ignorant about epilepsy.
Many of the medications used to control epilepsy, like phenytoin, cause the gums to be swollen and w/o proper maintenance this may lead to periodontal disease.
Please ask to be referred out to someone that is capable of treating you. This may take time in the present situation you're in, but it is not a reason to be discriminated against.

Dan, I have found the NHS Direct helpline quite good. Don't know the 'phone number but it's in the book. Then again you may have already have tried that. Good luck.

That is discrimination. Tell the next dentist that refuses you that you will sue him, and if you're in America you'll be rich.
