You'll be fine. They'll definitely give you novacaine to completely numb the area so you won't feel anything. Depending on where the teeth are, how detailed the work is, and what you've asked them, will depend on what they do. One time i went in for an emergency extraction, and all I got was novacaine, didnt feel anything but some pressure.
When I got my wisdom teeth done, they gave a choice of local anastesia with laughing gas or iv sedation. I chose IV sedation, and they pretty much gave me Versed, a benzodiazepine which put me to the point of almost being asleep, but I didn't remember a thing, as well as laughing gas to relax me before they knocked me out, and the novacaine just in case. You'll have no problems at all.
One thing they will tell you, is to not drink anything after midnight usually, the night before, just because they dont want any risk of regurgetation while you're sedated. They'll probably give you some type of narcotic pain reliever, like percocet or vicodin, as well as ibuprofen to deal with the swelling, but you'll be fine. Its nothing to worry about, and you wont feel a thing.

Just left the dentists office myself. The old saying is, "The anticipation far exceeds the actual event."
Dentistry is fairly painless now days. They will numb your gums and then you'll feel no pain, maybe some discomfort from the pulling action but it is nothing really at all.
Once the novacain wears off then you'll have a little pain, but they will give you a prescription to handle that.
It won't be as bad as you are thinking it is.
good luck to you.

I've had 2 teeth taken out before. What they do is give you something to numb your mouth(actually a shot but the shot really does not hurt.I got my teeth taken out when I was 9 years old.And just a warning you can't eat an hour after and your mouth will bleed a lot.Good luck!Remember that fear will make it worse.I was scared to tell my crush I liked him and now I'm his gf!

i just had teeth pulled on friday, you wont feel pain, most dentists use novacaine, and if u let him/her know you are afraid, they may put numbing cream on before injection, depending on where in mouth tooth is getting pulled depends on how you feel when giving novacaine, top front hurts more then bottom front, you will feel pressure no pain, and hear noise, dentist will check first to make sure you are numbed up he will poke is metal thing in mouth if you feel that be sure to tell him so he could give you more novacaine, most dentists do things differently then other dentist not all do the same, good luck you will be okay

The dentist will probably give you Novocain. It really doesn't hurt much. After the novacain is administered, you won't feel any pain. Just take care of your teeth, you will be glad you did.

you should not feel anything but pressure. you may 'hear' some noise as the teeth are removed. your post extraction pain will be treated most likely with vicodin or one of the other opiates.
