I'm getting my braces off in a week and I am super excited!! But I was just wondering if it hurts, and about how long the whole process takes?? Any answers are greatly appreciated...thanks!

It doesn't hurt at all! You might feel some pressure as the brackets are being removed, but that's it. Think about it-- if you ever had a broken bracket, I bet you didn't feel it when it broke! It should only be a 45 minute appointment, I'd think-- but maybe a bit longer if they're planning to take final x-rays that day. They'll also take impressions for retainers. But no, there's no pain.

Not at all. Just a little pressure on the teeth to scrape off the cement and all. It took like, 10 minutes. Maybe less. 5?

no, it doesn't once u have kept it on for the recommended period. after u remove the braces, a thin plastic lining called a "retainer" is provided. so u might have to wear it for some more time. believe me, it shud not pain if the treatment's been completed.

No way! I got mine off a year ago, and I thought it would kill, but I didn't even know she took them off! All they do is push on your teeth a little, remove the wire, and PRESTO! your braces are off! Oh, but right when you get them off your teeth feel slimy, however that goes away the next day.

They come off a heck of alot quicker when they went on...45 minutes or less...and abslotuely pain free...

no they dont hurt they nimb you and it takes about and hour
