Actually, it does matter. Generally, I brush my teeth with tepid to warm water to make sure all the food particulates are washed away, but I rinse with cold water to make sure that any gum tenderness or bleeding is stopped by the cold. Though your gums shouldn't bleed freely, it isn't uncommon to have a touch of it if you're very thorough and if you rinse with warm water the bleeding will continue. Be aware, however, that bleeding gums is a sign of gingivitis (gum infection) so you need to be aware and see your dentist if it becomes persistent or something you can't handle. Good luck!

I tend to rinse with warm water because I noticed that when I rinse with cold water, it hurts my teeth. My teeth are sensitive.

I've used cold water to brush my teeth all my life.

I don't think it matters, but I use warm water. It is just comforting.

i like cool water but not usually cold. (it just feels better in the mouth)
and if i have a pain in my tooth or something i like just a little warm.
i don't think it matters however.
