Yes this is very true. Not only the gums but the bones themselves. Tooth roots go down into the bones keeping the bones strong and healthy. When the teeth are gone the bones begin to resorb and soon deteriorate. I have a good friend who at age of 30 had her teeth pulled and got dentures. When she had them pulled she looked normal. Today 8 years later when she turns and you see her profile and she bites down her chin nearly meets her nose. I has aged this once very beautiful woman to looking like she is 58 or older than the 38 year old woman she really is.
I got dental implants to save my bones from deteriorating. I had all my teeth pulled in 2005. I recently had x-rays and my bones are sound and strong.

Your gums shrink and that makes it look as if your whole jaw has shrunk.
When you have dentures put in the mouth fills up again and you would never know that there were no teeth.

Your jaw doesn't shrink but the gums do and the lips cave in because they have nothing to push them back out. Sometimes the nose can droop. My grandmother, who wore dentures, had to get a splint put into her nose to prop it back up after she got her teeth pulled out.

Yes your gums shrink, it can give you that sucked in cheek look.
Rumour has it old Hollywood stars like Joan Crawford deliberately had back teeth taken out to give them a high cheekbone effect!!

your jaw does not shrink as such, the gum and bone levels shrink if you have all your teeth removed.

Your gum area does shrink when you get all your teeth out.Your gums also change with no teeth as you age .

No it is not true. I have had dentures for many years and no-one can tell the difference.

i think of it actual relies upon on the guy. Their eyes, faces shape, lips, all of that. It additionally relies upon on the lady. Does she like a clean face or no longer. This worldwide is so different there is not any one rule.
