I know this is going to make me sound like a dummy, but im 20 years old and never have had a cavity before.

I had a hole in my tooth before and it was just a weak spot in my tooth enamel. But now i have like three or four holes, like out of nowhere, only one of them hurts but im thinking it might be because my wisdom teeth are growing in and my tooth is just getting pushed. So are these cavities?

Im going to go to the dentist, but im terrified of needles, i have panic attacks and get sick. So im praying this isnt, what do yall think?

I thought all the decay was removed before the filling was done. Once it is covered with the filling and no longer exposed, how can it become decayed again?

Is this true?: Ultrasonic scaling uses a machine called a cavitron, which uses sound waves to remove tartar. Ultrasonic scalers can only remove 50% of total tartar buildup so hand scaling must follow cavitron scaling.

I recently had a dental checkup about odd pains in the back of my gums. It turns out that i have wisdom teeth popping up, and they are impacted.

They dont hurt me 90% of the time, but i get an occasional twinge. I may get them removed, but i want to know details, such as do i really need them removed, or can i just leave them in.

Im not bothered about having the operation, but mucus and blood in my mouth doesn't sound exciting to be honest..

Any help given is welcome

i am having my wisdom teeth pulled tomorrow and i have two other teeth that have chipped because apparently i have soft teeth .. and my dentist told me i should have them both pulled along with my wisdom teeth because root canals dont always work .. but everyone i talk to about getting them pulled said dont do it or my other teeth will spread what should i do ? i am tired of having to watch what i eat because it hurts when i eat ... so do i eat better or worry about spreading ?

He badly needs several root canals, but Medicare will only pay to have all of his teeth pulled. I hate to see him lose all his teeth at such a young age, but I have no money to help him. Are there any financial aid programs or dentists who might help? He is in a lot of pain.

Every time that I go to the dentist, I tell myself that everything will be alright and that I can handle it. I am nervous for at least a week before hand, even if it is just for a routine cleaning. I end up acting like a child, not wanting to even open my mouth. My denitst is really nice and understanding, but I feel really bad. I just want to know what to do and how I can calm myself down. I already get Nitrous anytime I actually have work done.

I have 3 children, ages 9, 6, and 18 mos. My 9 year old has already had crowns on couple of teeth, as well as just now diagnosed with an abcess due to one of his 6 year molars decay, which 6 months ago looked okay. We have been told that both of my 2 older children have hypoenamelism, which is why they are having these problems, but doing a google or yahoo search does not show anything on hypoenamelism. I would love to do some research on this (can read medical lit, as I am a doctor) but do not know where to start. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

In the dream there were friends from high school that I haven't spoken to in years. At first only one fell out, but as soon as I noticed that people could see, my teeth started to crumble into pieces? at the end I was crying, and I had no teeth.

I get ulcers from time to time and they go away after a week. I got this one on the inside of my bottom lip about 3 weeks ago and it was a bit different. It's kind of a 'hole', what i mean is is that it goes IN a bit like a crater. There was an ulcer there but that's healed and gone, but the crater still remains, it doesn't hurt (only very mildly) but I want it to go away and I'm getting worried, any ideas?..

Hello. I'm 35 years old but feel like such a baby right now. I am getting my upper left wisdom tooth extracted in about 9 hours from now. I am so nervous.
I have a prescription for Halcion from the oral surgeon and am supposed to take it one hour before my appointment.
I am nervous about I will feel from this medication. I am also very nervous about the extraction itself. The tooth is not impacted. It's decayed and broken and cannot be saved. The dentist is expecting it to break during the extraction. I am not sure how this affects the procedure. I am so scared of many things from the pain and/or pressure I may feel, to the crunching noises I may hear, etc. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I'm thinking of a science fair project for. I am wondering what actually does decay the teeth? Carbonation? Sugar? Also what types of pop do decay teeth the most? (ex.root beer, pepsi etc.)
