Get a second or third opinion. I have had a dentist tell me I needed some dental surgery when I could not afford it and so when I asked how long would the procedure be good for, the prognosis, he said five years. I didn't bother and it is now twenty years later and all is still ok. I would let him know but he committed suicide. Hmmmmmm!

my goodness-I agree w/ all the other comments-make sure you get a second opinion.
Extracting six teeth will leave you with a gap all the way to the front of your mouth. (3 molars if you have a wisdom tooth,2 premolars and 1 canine) The dentist or specialist will normally provide you with a temporary plate (stayplate) to wear. The fit is usually not ideal since it's met to be worn for a short period of time but it will do the trick of helping conceal the area.
I'm afraid it will be a long process b/c the extraction sites needs to heal and osteointergretion (bone intergrating into the implant titanium post) takes at least a few months.
It's very expensive but worth it in the long run b/c implants function like your own teeth.

I think that you try to get a second opinion before opting for that decision. That is a major surgery and I heard that your gums have to heal before you can get the implants so you are going to be without your teeth for awhile. I think you should see what another dentist thinks. If you are trying to get it all done at once then you would be best to do it at a hospital because of the chances of infection. I think antibiotics would be neccesary as well if you have certain types of disorders. It is best to also consult your family doctor about this issue and to get a physical before hand to check out your heart and to see if you are physically fit before this surgery. Tooth surgery can be a major thing. May God be with you!

Definately get a second opinion, and if the same thing is said, it's really up to you.
If leaving it wont cause anything bad to your health or such, it is up to you to decide if you want to spend the money on looks.
If its needed, definately go for it. It could hurt, but it could be worth it.

I got braces I thought my teeth would never close but they closed and It doesn't hurt much unless you don't take the medicine.
