1. I have anxiety attacks about the dentist, i wont even let the hygentist do a cleaning. Anyways I went today and got my xrays done and they suggested that i extract all my top teeth (i still have my wisdom teeth too), which I agree with, id rather just do it and get it over with. But my questions are this
Since i have anxiety attacks what are my options, i mean this dentist will not even prescribe vicodin. Can I get all the top pulled at once ? How long does it take? I have about 5 of 6 busted off at the gum so i know thats probably going to be more then just an easy extraction, but if they would just do a sedation and local antestesia, id do it, i just dont know if can go through it and if i dont do it soon, im afraid this is going to effect my OVERALL Health. What do you guys think? I really need advice. Should i visit my dr for sedation medicine if the dentist WONT do it?

Okay. Sorry for all my questions about spacers but I guess my orthodontist isn't that informative. Okay so as you might already know. I have spacers. (duh!!) but I got them Monday. And today, and I'm POSITIVE that it was today, one fell out. The one on the left side top molar in the way back. So I've had them five days. And this is the bad part. The ortho is closed until Monday which just so happens to be when my next appt. to get brackets and stuff is. I'm really worried that all my appt.'s will be delayed. So can you tell me if the space was made or something after five days or if I'm going to have to get another spacer or whatever. This really sucks. =[ And I didn't eat anything I wasn't supposed to. All I had to eat today was a plain plain plain donut and the only thing on it was a light sprinkle of sugar. It wasn't glazed or anything. Oh, and do you think that the spacer could get wrapped around my intestine?!?

I visited two orthodontists because I was unsure which orthodontist to go to. I made an appointment with both of them and went to both appointments. Iam confused because I went to the first orthodontist and he to me that my wisdom teeth aren't in yet but when I went to the other orthodontist he told me that I had my full set of wisdom teeth in and he showed me with a mirror. The second orthodontist told me that I might need jaw surgery too and he explained why too. The first orthodontist never told me that anything about jaw surgery but he did talk about having a few teeth pulled to make the teeth strighten up easier. Here's the peoblem how did the first orthodontist I went to miss the full set of wisdom I have and the second orthodontist saw them clearly? I went 2 weeks apart from each orthodontist. The second orthodontist sound like he know's what to do and how to help me with the treatment of my braces. I want to go to him for braces. How did the 1st orthdontist miss them?

okay im going to the dentist soon but there has been this small, and i mean really small hole in my tooth, i dont really even think its a hole, maybe just like this dent in my back tooth. it doesnt hurt at all and theres nothing black or anything, but i was just wondering if this is a cavity. i really dont think it is just because when i look at it, it seems to small for a filling, but i dont know because ive never had a cavity? the thing is, is that its been there since my last two dentists appointments and they never even said anything about it? im going to ask this time cause im curious but i was just wondering if this is anything i even need to worry about?

My dentists wants me to start braces, have a jaw surgery where they will cut through my mouth, break my jaw, and set it with pins, the then after a few more month of braces be done.
Is this a safe procedure? How much does it cost? How much recovery is expected?

I have a hole in my gum behind my last tooth in the back of my mouth. What could be going on? I don't have any insurance for going to a dentist as I have Tenncare PHP and they don't offer any dentristry care. What can I do to prevent it from getting any worse? I think that I can touch the bone when I put my finger back there. We don't have much money but I want to get something done because I don't want it to get any worse. Where can I go? What can I do to prevent it from getting worse. It doesn't hurt but I am very worried.

I am getting 2 cavities filled on monday, I am afraid of the dentist (bad experiences) and really nervous to get my cavities drilled.

1. Are you afraid of the dentist?
2. Do you have any cavities? If so then how many?
3. Did it hurt bad getting them drilled? Give me a number 1-10. (10hurting the most)
4. What hurts more, the shot or the drilling?
5. How long to they take do be filled?

Please give me more advice, if possible. I am pretty scared. Thanks.

My father is allergic to the "caine" family of anethsetics. He is in desperate need of a root canal, but, cannot have one b/c of his allergies. We've been told that an endodontist is the only one that could perform this under his circumstances. But, would have to have hospital privilages, so that he can be "put to sleep" to have this done.

Serious responses only please!

Thanks in advance for your help! And God Bless!

This is all the work of that rat bastard orthodonist putting it in to early (sorry im angrier than ever).

If i get my wisdom teeth removed, will it help?

i was born w/out the 'pointy' bottom teeth(srry can't remember what there called....=]) i never had the adult or baby teeth grow in on the bottom, you can't tell unless ur a dentist or ortho, (there is no gap or anything like that).
but bcuz of it, and that fact that i'm getting braces& an expander, i have to get two on the top pulled to even it out.

I don't know if i will be put under or if they are just going to numb it w/ a shot.....what do u think?

when they don't put u to sleep, and only use the numbing stuff, do you feel any pain.
(i hate going to the dentist, i'm one of those who has a phobia..)

Ok, well I'm 15 years old and have braces. I just got back from the dentist yesterday, and I'm beginning to get gingivitis and my tartar is terrible, I guess it's because when I got my braces, I stopped flossing regularly because of the hassle. Well after getting told off by my dentist and my ortho in the same day, I've decided to floss more often, lol! But because my gums have swollen from the disease, I'm having a harder time than ever threading the floss through my lower braces! Is there any way that I can make it easier to floss and clean my teeth and gums? Should I use a water pick instead? do they clean as well? How can I help reduce the infection in my gums? That's what I'm more worried about than anything, how can I clean this stuff out of my mouth? Is there any way other than professional help to clean thoroughly under my gum line? Please help! I'm desperate, if I don't get better in 6 weeks, my braces are going to get taken off! =(

Being a Police Officer allows me to experience tons of new things, always have challenges and problems to solve etc, but the job stress and the stress on family life is a killer.

I haven't been with my family for a Holiday in about 2 years, and my hours (days or nights) are at the whim of the Department. Can it be rewarding and challenging, oh yeah, but honestly I'd rather spend more time with my family leading a normal life.

For this I'm looking into what was my second love as a kid, Dentistry. Only problem is I've got my fiancée, a life right now, and no financial backing. Schooling for Dentistry is a full time job, so I don't know if I can afford it (not the school itself, but living, rent, food, etc). That's why I'm looking at Dental Hygienist. Less financial burden, it seems to pull in a dang fine wage compared to what I make, almost double according to salary sites. Normal hours, less stress, Holidays with family, no Hurricane duty away from family. Good idea?

The last couple of weeks one of my back teeth has been sensitive to cold drinks. I just had a dental exam and xrays about 3 months ago and they said there were no cavities. In fact, I have never had a cavity in my life (I'm 25). The area of the tooth that seems to be bugging me is on the side between the two teeth and its not extremely painful or anything. Also, the last couple of days, when I floss there it bleeds. No other part of my mouth bleeds when I floss. Does this sound more like some kind of problem with my gums in that area or is it a cavity?
