okay im going to the dentist soon but there has been this small, and i mean really small hole in my tooth, i dont really even think its a hole, maybe just like this dent in my back tooth. it doesnt hurt at all and theres nothing black or anything, but i was just wondering if this is a cavity. i really dont think it is just because when i look at it, it seems to small for a filling, but i dont know because ive never had a cavity? the thing is, is that its been there since my last two dentists appointments and they never even said anything about it? im going to ask this time cause im curious but i was just wondering if this is anything i even need to worry about?

Hi. I know exactly what the problem is. Actually, it's not even a problem to worry about. I am a Specially trained Orthodontist in North Carolina and I just recently had a young lady come in the other day with this same problem. It is simillar to a cavity, but not quite as severe. Do you eat alot of candy but brush your teeth regularly? If so the acids in your tooth paste and the acids from your candy are mixing together to form a small as you descriobed, pin hole. They are very common and mostly have no pain whatsoever. If there is pain, it normally doesn't hurt enough to notice. All I suggest is to yes, speak with your dentist then he can do what he/she thinks is best for the situation. Most likely they will leave it as is and observe over the next few months. Or they may fill it. Let me knbow what happens! Best of Wishes!

HELLO,
THIS IS PROBABLY A STAINED FISSURE OR PIT. THIS IS NOT A CAVITY IF THEY CHECKED IT TWICE BEFORE AND SAID NOTHING.
I WOULN'T WORRY ABOUT IT.
