I am scheduled to get all four of my wisdom teeth pulled next month and I am a little uneasy. All four wisdom teeth are impacted (completely hidden in my gums). I heard it was a bit more complicated and painful. Anyone else had this experience? How long before I can get back to work?

My son is 5yrs old. He brushes on his own regularly and I brush for him every other day to make sure he's doing it correctly. Today I noticed a green coloration under a very small corner of one of his back bottom teeth. I flossed it and brushed it very well. I am not sure if it is a green taffy (airhead) type candy he ate a day ago or if it is the beginning of a cavity. It looks like if it were a piece of soft candy, that it is stuck under there. There is no way to get it out with a pick or anything, the teeth are too close together and hardly any gap. Do you think it is a candy? will it dissolve soon and go away? dentist? or do you think it is the beginning of a cavity? do they start out greenish? Thanks for your help.

For the past couple weeks I've felt a bump on the roof of my mouth, somewhat close to my right canine. Recently I've noticed it felt a little bony, like a tooth was coming through. I'm going to the orthodontist soon, but in the meantime, I have reason to believe that it's a palatal tori. What I want to know is considering it doesn't really need treatment, and assuming I won't need it removed, will it just stay there forever? Or will it eventually go away? Is it a recurring thing? Thanks.

I just got spacers yesterday. They don't hurt very much now, but the orthodontist told me that it is possible for some to fall out, but that that was okay since that would just mean that it had made enough room. Before he told me that he warned me not to chew gum AT ALL when I get braces because it would flex the wires until they break, and if I swallowed a wire I would maybe have to have surgery. Now the question is, what if I'm sleeping and a spacer falls out, and I swallow it? I don't think it would be dangerous, since the same could happen with a tooth and it would probably pass normally, but I'm not sure. Please try to give honest answers, but not ones that can be overly scary..I want to get some sleep the next 5 nights until I get them taken out. :) Thanks!

My cousin told me to ask this because he has not gone to the dentist and he has to go soon, but he wants to know if something is going to happen that he should be prepared for. He brushes his teeth daily, but they are not the whitest teeth.

About a year ago I had one of my front teeth root-canalled, the dentist said my sinuses got it infected, he gave me the root canal and put some kind of metal bar in.. it hurts every now and then, especially recently, my nose is really puffy and I can feel it swelling.

Is it possible the procedure was done incorrectly?

what should I do?

My employer is offering dental insurance for $30 a month. It seems like a waste of money since I only go to the dentist once a year and the cleaning is only a hundred dollars or so. My mom thinks that I should get it. What do you think?

Years ago, my sister told me that her son couldn't brush his teeth without throwing up. Maybe just power of suggestion, but now I can't either. I dread it every day. How do I overcome the power? Usually, I try to think about something else, but it just doesn't work any more. I hope some of you can offer suggestions.

Well, now I found out from the dentist that I need a root canal, and that if I don't get one the infection (I have an abscess) will come back once my antibiotic runs out, but I can't afford to pay for the root canal, and they said they don't have any kind of payment plan I could do and that I need to pay them up front for them to do the dental work. What should I do?

My dentist wants my wisdom teeth! They're not causing me any pain, no infection, so I don't see what his reasoning is. Is it absolutely necessary?

Hi y'all! I hope everyone is having a fine day.

I busted my 2nd molar yesterday and the pain is really quite exquisite. In otherwords, OW! I am flat broke since I am awaiting a decision on disability, so going to a dentist is out of the question.

Any suggestions on what to do to aleviate some of this pain. I have tried Tylenol, Aleve and that tooth stuff that you pain on to relieve sensitive teeth. No luck.

Thanks in advance...

Why would there be bad decay and need to replace a crown after 1-1 1/2 years? Would you just have it pulled and deal with the chewing problem? I have a dull tooth ache. Three back teeth are bad. Two had crowns in 2005 and the very back one has to be pulled. No dental insurance.

Yesterday for the first time I smoked an herb called wormwood (don't do it, it's crap). Some ash fell on my porch and I tried to rub it away with my fingers. I can't tell you how many times I washed my hands after that, but today my fingers still smell like smoke/ash and are slightly stained. I even tried toothpaste, which is supposed to remover stubborn smells.

Also, my breath still smells and tastes like smoke even though I've eaten many things and brushed my teeth since then! I've smoked cigarettes before and my breath smelled normal within a few hours. Will this go away? Also, since the smell is still on my breath, I'm guessing my teeth got stained pretty bad by the smoke. Are smoke stains on your teeth permanent or are they like tea stains?

What kind of pain should I expect from the drilling out of a medium-deep sized cavity (not giving me any pain right now, does that mean it isnt touching the root?) w

WITH local anesthetic.

How much will the drilling hurt?
