i've had four fillings on my teeth in the past 2 months. the first, which was the biggest, has caused no problems what so ever. but the other three continue to be very painful when eating. i cant' even eat something like a rice cracker without having to manouver the food around to dodge the teeth in question.
suddenly eating is unenjoyable, so i'm very peeved!
is this normal, will it fade, or have i gone to a dodgey dentist?

My 12 year daughter bought some candy called "warheads" They are VERY sour. She took them to school which she was told not to do and to avoid being caught she kept one in a stationary position in her mouth on her tounge to avoid being caught by her teacher. Now she has a sore on her tounge the size of a penny. all the skin and taste buds are gone it's bloody and swollen. Has anyone ever had this happen? and if so will it heal and will she get her taste buds back???

Since yesterday 1 tooth on the top right (between my front teeth and side) started hurting when I jump, move my head back and forth, or do any sudden movement that moves my head.

I have no clue what could be causing this, I brush regularly and go to the dentist twice a year. Last month when I went he said nothing was wrong with my teeth either.

Anyone have any idea what could be causing this? I changed nothing in my daily routine.

Since the health insurance that I have doesn't cover dental and I'm not able to afford separate dental insurance, I haven't been to a dentist in three years. Is there is a cheap way to get dental care without getting a cheap dentist that will do a crappy job?

Hey everyone,

I just had a crown prep done today, about two hours ago. I've never had anything done to my teeth before, since I've been very lucky. So I don't know what I am going through is normal. The dentist did the normal crown prep; drilling, sizing, etc. He also checked my nerves to see if they were doing they’re job. I have about a 50-50 chance of having a root canal; most likely not though. The prep and bad tooth, which was worked on, is the second back molar on the bottom left (tooth 18).

So the real question, is my jaw (upper mandible) and that area supposed to be sore? I would think it would be, but I just need to make sure, since I'm looking for a bad nerve. My tooth, with the temp crown, is dull pain; nothing too bad really! It's just the upper mandible and it sore. I took some Advil and my Amoxicillin, let's hope it gets better! Thanks for the advance help everyone.

I had all 4 my impacted widom teeth removed last Friday. Today is Thursday so it's just about 6 days later. My recovery has been long and very painful. I had terrible body aches and fever too but fortunately this didn't turn out to be an infection or anything - just my individual physical reaction to the anaesthetic.
My surgeon said I had a TMJ problem prior to my surgery and he was hoping that the removal of my wisdom teeth would relieve a lot of the pressure and muscle spasms.
Although I think my "sockets" are healing I still have incredible pain in my jaw (right up to were my cheekbone is). This is sometimes accompanied by a headache in my temple on the same side.
I can still only consume liquid food (yogurt, custard etc) as I can only open my jaw approx 2cm. I was battling to open my jaw properly BEFORE the surgery (apparently as a result of the TMJ) but it was never as bad as this.
Is this normal? Will it ease up as I heal? How long will it take before I can open my mouth?

I recently got 4 cavities filled on one side of my mouth (Dec 28) and my mouth was a little sore for about 2 weeks, and it's still a teensy bit cold sensitive. I have a sensitive mouth anyways, so I wasn't too worried about it. I just want to know if there's anyone else out there like me.
