I have seen people who have gotten braces and they still have crooked teeth (not after they take it off but with the braces on). My top teeth are crammed and i have a tooth growing above the others and it looks really bad. Will braces (and a good doctor) make them straight?

Also is it all made straight at once or over time because i would like the one growing on top to be moved down immediately so nobody can see it slowly being moved down. thank you for the replies.

My normal dentist recommended that I should consider getting two titanium screwed tooth implantations. He set up a consultation with a visiting oral surgeon to talk to me about whether I am a candidate and answer questions I may have.

the oral surgeon is charging me 85 dollars. is this normal or am I being ripped off?

I've heard that your wisdom teeth growing in can mess up your other teeth but will it still effect them if you have braces? Since my teeth are supposed to be getting straightened anyway.

There are mouth guards for grinding of teeth at night (during sleep), however how can I stop myself from grinding my teeth during the daytime when I'm wide awake...I find myself grinding and gritting my teeth together quite often.

Okay, maybe I picked a bad dentist, I don't know. I hate dentists and have had very bad experiences with them (last time i went was for a toothache and ended up getting an attempted 3 hour root canal with warn off novacaine). The dentist I picked uses the wand to give the novicaine and its great, but when I talk to him about my problems he just says lets pull it. He argued with me over the perscription last time and I did try to take what he perscribed but couldn't. I am afraid that he will just pull the tooth first then give antibiotics which will start another fight. I end up feeling very scared and distrustful of dentists again. I am seeing him tommorrow because I have another toothache again where the infection was last time. I don't want to have a tooth pulled if it is absoutly not necessary, I don't have that many molars left as it is. He doesn't do follow ups and schedules appointments every 15-30 minutes. Should I look for another dentist or what?

I had a really bad infection and had a tooth pulled but the infection is back. What will get rid of the bacteria before I loose all my teeth! I did 7 days on Erythromycin three weeks ago and its back with a vengence. I am seeing the dentist tommorrow but really don't want another tooth pulled, it hurt really bad last time because it couldn't get numbed all the way. I can't take pills or penicillin. What should I do....I don't want it to get worse just to go away.

When I first started growing in teeth after the baby teeth fell out, Everyone noticed that I have no enamel on my teeth at all and they are very small then the usual size of teeth. My brother also has this problem, and my dad when he was younger, he had to get all of his teeth pulled and now has false dentures. I haven't been to a dentist since I was about 9, now im 16. I don't know what to do. Will I just have to get them capped? pulled? help please! Thank you.

I have to have a root canal on Thursday. It's after work, so no problem there. Is the pain intense enough the day after the procedure that I will need to take a day off of work? I'm a teacher, so it's hard to call off. Its better to know these things in advance. Thanks in advance for your help!

I had my wisdom teeth taken out last Friday (the 2nd), and it seems as if the pain from it has gradually increased. I did everything the doctor said to (soft foods, rinse once in the morning and once at night, took antibiotics, gauze, icepacks, etc.). I know it's technically only the 5th day, but I was told I should be able to eat normally in a week (being 7 days), and I feel that this is definetly not going to happen (unless it does overnight...).

Could it be possible that I have dry socket? I heard it was rare. The pain does go away with medications such as Motrin (otc), or the Ibuprofin they gave me, but should it still be hurting this far into the recovery period? I usually have a headache along with the pain, if that helps.

Thanks in advance.

So, all of a sudden, the inside of my mouth has been swelling and incredibly irritating. It's red and just swollen and it's right on the inside of my cheeks. It's so painful to eat and even talking stings a little. It feels really tingly and i know a few days before the side of my toung was hurting too. I havent had any allergies, I haven't eaten anything out of the ordinary. It's incredibly random but I have no clue what it is? Any ideas, any dentists or oral professionals? Pleaseeee

while. One day I got a piece of food stuck in it and tried to get it out. My
gum by the bridge got swollen so I called the dentist and she told me to
come in. She took a x-ray and told me that I needed a apicotemy, but when
the oral surgeon said I need that tooth extracted. Well the pain went away and I havent had any for about six months now. The dentist told me she would have to cut the bridge off and to replace it would cost 4000.00
dollars which I dont have. Well I was trying to get a piece of orange out of
my bridge and it came off. Do you think the dentist can recement it and if she says no. Can I insist. I dont not have the money. Thanks

I am having surgery for my upper and lower jaw!!! My upper jaw is over-developed and my lower jaw is under developed. I am so scared on what's going to happen after surgery; like what do I eat, how do I brush my teeth and so on. I wanted to see if anyone had this done and if they could give me some advice.
