I am extremely phobic and have been for 50yrs. As you can imagine, my teeth are now in a very bad way and I need a lot of treatment.I really need help. Can anyone advise where I should go please? I am terrified of even the thought of going to a dentist, and even more so now that they will not give a general anaesthetic.

I need to have one of my wisdom teeth out , the upper right one, right beside the cheek bone. It has grown in such a way it is pressing on the bone and is so far behind it you cant see it. My dentist says he can do it there in the surgery for about three hundred euro, but I will be sedated and awake. The other option is going private which will be alot more expensive but i will be completly unconsious. I would much prefer this option regardless of the exprense although I am thinking of going up to the North (I live in the Republic of Ireland) because Ive heard it is much cheaper.
Has anyone had an upper wisdom tooth out whilst AWAKE? What would you recommend, go ahead with it awake or be knocked out?

okay, here's the prob. just ate lunch at 1.30, and of cause i took off my retainers. i forgot to put them back on till about 4.15. when i put it on, i felt that the two front teeth were a little tight. i think my teeth had moved a little. you think?

okay, so my question is, will my teeth get back in it position if i leave my retainer on? i'm using the clear plastic ones.

I have to get one of mine taken out, it is fully grown in and doesnt hurt, but i have to get it taken out since i cant brush it well. The dentist said he is just going to "wiggle" it out. He said he is going to locally numb it, I wont be put to sleep, hes not an oral surgeon. Is this going to hurt?

Please be nice, or fun. My sisters and I refuse to go back to our dentists. We go to different dentists but each of them were mean and nasty When it comes to out dentures.Out tops are great but the bottoms cut into the skin. OUCH. Poor granny. Anyway. We filed our dentures and the uppers are great. The silver/whatever on the bottom cannot be filed. We refuse to go to another place to be treated like we need lots of work when we don't. We are stubborn but so nice. Are there any home treatments we can use to make the bottoms right? The bottom dentures, of course.

My dentist filed down my canines and I was wondering if they would ever grow back to points or if I should just get a specialist to file them.

I heard that there is a treatment some dentists are offering and they will completely knock you out before filling cavities, root canals etc. I am so frightened of the dentist I am willing to pay extra money for this. What is the name of this? Will insurance pay for part of it? Thanks for any info!!

I had my tooth pulled tonight, it was a baby tooth, it was a bad cavity, he didn't want to do root canal on a baby tooth, I'm 27 years old, don't ask me why I still have some baby teeth...anyway, The Dentist was a lunatic pulling in one direction hard as hell, it took a while for him to stop. Afterwards as i sit here now...I can feel something in side of the hole, towards one side, it's sharp, and hard, and i can feel it with my nail...i had someone look at it with a flashlight..they said it looks like a tooth is coming down. But the Dentist told me I would have to get an implant when he saw my x rays before this, because there was no permanent tooth above it...Did that moron Dentist break a piece off that is still in my gum??? If so, is that bad? Or could I leave it?

I recently got an expander put on my top jaw and on the right side of my upper mouth the gum just started to swell about 2 days ago. I've had the expander on for about a month now. What should i do? or what could I do to make it go down? and why is it swelling?

Does aspirin work in the same way Novocaine does? In other words, if you take aspirin before going to the dentist, would it act as a pain killer to an extent? Or is the mechanism totally unrelated to Novocaine?

I had my upper left wisdom tooth pulled today. Didn't even know about dry socket so I just have a few questions.
Will I know if the clot falls out?
What time frame after extraction does that usually happen?

Thanks
