He brushes his teeth constantly, He flosses, he uses a pic to clean out his hole in his tooth, His gums also bleed when he brushes. But he really takes good care of his teeth and mouth. So what can it be?

there are medical conditons that cause bad breath. the most common of which is halatsosis.
bad breath is usally caused by bacteria on the teeth, tounge and inside the mouth. if he brushes and flosses it's probably not food in his teeth. But it can be something he can't control
You said he had a hole in his tooth--sound like he may have some rotting which definitely would cause bad breath. If he's ever has oral surgery there is always the possibility that they left a gauze in his mouth that could be collecting bacteria and causing bad breath.
If he's done everything he can like using a tongue scraper to get the bacteria off his tongue, using an anti-bacterial mouthwash (listerine, crest) then he should seek a dentist to make sure nothing stuck, and check that hole in his tooth

Often halitosis can be caused in part by diet. Usually meat is the culprit. The stuff rots in the body before it is absorbed into the system. Does he also brush his tongue, inner cheeks, and gums as well as his teeth? The fuzz on your tongue can cause halitosis as well.
His tooth sounds as if it is rotting. He needs to see a dentist. If he does not, he is not taking proper care of his mouth. If his gums are bleeding he needs to see a dentist because gingivitis can lead to many problems.
I imagine visiting the dentist and having his mouth fixed up would solve a great deal of the problem.

If his gums bleed in spite of rigorous brushing he may have an abcess or some other dental issue that can't be seen. He needs a professional cleaning and evaluation. The bleeding gums point to it most likely being gingivitis rather than his tongue or other health issues but have it checked out. My husband had a serious abcess and had no pain just atrocious breath. It has come clear through the upper part of his mouth before it was found.

You just gave the problem for his mouth odor yourself. You said that his gums bleed when he brushes. Do you know that is not normal? That is a sign of periodontal disease. If he does in fact have this, then nothing he does at home is going to resolve the problem. The bacteria is below the gumline, and no matter what he does, he is not going to get all of that bacteria out of there.
Bacteria that causes gum disease if very difficult to kill and no matter what other tell you, or what you read in magazines or see on tv, you can not use anything at home that will kill it. He needs to visit the dentist and see how advanced his periodontal condition is, and then begin whatever protocal that they recommend.
Periodontal disease is in a sense hereditary, so if either of his parents had it, or if you know if they lost their teeth early in life, then you know that he has a high chance of developing it.

Like everyone else is saying, it could be Halitosis or it could be something internal. I know someone who had an internal problem and when he burped it could clear the whole room out! But then again, along with all of the other things your husband does, like brushing flossing, etc., does his brush his tongue well? Brushing your tongue is very important if you dont want to have bad breath because if you dont do it pretty much everything you have eaten and drank will be stuck on your tongue. If he is brushing his tongue correctly, when he spits out his toothpaste and everything afterward, it would look or feel like hes slobbering. Try to get him to brush his tongue, along with everything else, and if THAT doesnt work, take him to the doctor/dentist. Good luck.
Oh and whether he gets his problem taken care of or not, tell him to always keep a pack of gum, anything but big red, on him because it always helps and comes in handy if you need it right before talking to someone! Keep it in the car, pocket, wallet, whatever helps best.

I used to have bad breath a lot of the time, too. The thing that really helped me was scrubbing my tongue really good every time I brushed my teeth. I started doing that because I heard that bad breath is caused by bacteria that is on the tongue. Scope mouthwash really helps alot, too. I hope that you find something that works!

Your husband needs to go to the dentist, even though he might be looking after his teeth, he obviously has some form of gum disease, as well as tooth decay, he needs to go and see a dentist to have this fixed, there is no home remedy for this.

get him a gift basket of a trip to the dentist and stand guard armed with tooth brush and floss handy. There are great products there. Wear your sexiest unmentionables and help him brush and floss. sounds kinky but a good fun couple activity. And tell him he looks sexy brushing in his undies. Fun and healthy for you both.

He has cavities...and gum disease...get it under control and the odor will go away....Its probably for sure coming from the hole in his tooth.
