I know about brushing and flossing and going to the dentist regularly, but is there anything else? For instance:
Does an increase in calcium intake help my teeth?
Does rinse help or hinder?
Is there anything I can add to my toothpaste to help (like baking soda)?
How effective is chewing gum?
Will brushing my teeth right away be more effective than waiting 10 or 20 minutes?
Or any other tips would be great.

about 2 days ago and since then my top two front teeth have been feeling really cold all the time, even with my mouth closed. I've never had sensitive teeth before and these teeth aren't particularly sensitive to hot or cold. Why do they feel cold and tingly? what can i do about it?

I went to the dentist and they prescribed chlorhexidine gluconate oral rinse. I was told to use it after breakfast and right before bed. I overheard someone saying that they rinse with salt water everyday. So would that help along with the other stuff?

When looking at dental questions posted on Yahoo Answers people always suggest to others to use Listerine as if it is some miracle mouthwash!! Listerine is no more effective than any other mouthwash (except for the really cheap ones of course because they are just crap)!! Are there people on here being paid to endorse this product or something!! Look if you are going to suggest to someone to use mouthwash just mention mouthwash don't suggest Listerine because in my opinion it is no more effective than some own brand mouthwashes, and is just ridiculously more expensive!!

Im looking to have my teeth whitened by Laser Surgery, but am a little bit scared because I hear it makes your teeth thin and stripps the enamel from your teeth, is this true and would anybody recommend this procedure? How often do you have to have it done?

I really hate the dentist, the last time I went I had to get a filling done and the dentist said I had more that needed doing and I should come back soon. The thing is the pain I went through last time was unbearable I nearly passed out. I feel now that my teeth are getting worse, I do brush every day, twice to keep them good. But I do not want to go through another filling and the local anesthetic, the one when the numb you? Does not really work on me. Can you get fillings done when they put you to sleep?

One of my teeth is on a plate and as been filed that much it always slips out now and the temporary teeth are a completely different colour to my own.I,ve only got to put up with this for 2 weeks until my new bridge is fitted, but i shan,t be smiling or talking that much in the mean time, because of the state of these teeth. But i wondered,if when i get my new bridge, say they are,nt the right colour etc,can i refuse to pay.Can i ask for another set made etc because if these temporary teeth are anything to go by i have no confidence in this NHS dentist.Any help on complaints please.

Ok, here I go again...apparently my last question wasn't worded right. This just happened in November, a piece of the tool the dentist was using broke off in my husband's tooth. The dentist is NOW telling him to go to an oral surgeon, so he will be PAYING AGAIN for the same work! He is not saying "I am responsible for that" he is saying "I don't know what to say" we are NOT happy with that response. There is a balance I WAS paying every month, BUT I feel that I should either NOT pay it anymore OR just give $5 every month by law. Am I justified to be angry by his actions? NO dentist responses, PLEASE. Thank you....

i went to the dentist yesterday as i had severe pain. he told me a peice of my filling had fell out and was exposing a nerve. he drilled out the rest of the filling and put some paste and a cap thingy over the top and said to make an appointment next week to go back and have it filled. he told me that it would be much more comfortable after - problem is i dont think it is. i think the pain is worse - could the pain be from his just working in my mouth or something more??

On the bottom right side of my mouth, where my wisdom tooth should be, there is a swelling bump that is starting to cover my other molar. It's constantly hurting and I can't eat because I can't close my teeth together due to the swelling. Any ideas on what this could be?
