One of my teeth is on a plate and as been filed that much it always slips out now and the temporary teeth are a completely different colour to my own.I,ve only got to put up with this for 2 weeks until my new bridge is fitted, but i shan,t be smiling or talking that much in the mean time, because of the state of these teeth. But i wondered,if when i get my new bridge, say they are,nt the right colour etc,can i refuse to pay.Can i ask for another set made etc because if these temporary teeth are anything to go by i have no confidence in this NHS dentist.Any help on complaints please.

Unfortunately temporaries are never very easy on the eye. This is basically because they are made using materials that are easy to mix up, place and then be removed when your new teeth arrive, it is out of the dentists hands I'm afraid. Temporaries are just that, temporary.
The plate has been filed to allow the temps to sit in place undisturbed otherwise they would just drop out all the time. The new teeth should fit perfectly and the Dentist will haven taken a shade so they will match your natural teeth as closely as possible. If you are not happy you every right to complain, your Dentist will more then likely arrange a new bridge as opposed to fitting them and you not paying. Good luck

I used to work at a dental office, so I have a little knowledge on the subject. The temporary bridge will not fit or look like the permanent one. This is just to hold the place of the missing teeth until the new bridge is seated. If the temporary is causing trouble with talking, eating, or any other every day habits, your dentist may be willing to adjust it for you. He will want you to be happy so you will continue to visit his office for other oral care. When the permanent bridge is seated, make sure you are completely happy with it before you leave the office. Also, if you have unexpected trouble with it later, you can always call the dentist for another adjustment.

Don't worry about the temporaries. Do make sure that you're happy with the permanents. If you're not, communicate it nicely to your dentist. If necessary, they'll adjust or remake your bridge. Be polite but firm if necessary.
