On the bottom right side of my mouth, where my wisdom tooth should be, there is a swelling bump that is starting to cover my other molar. It's constantly hurting and I can't eat because I can't close my teeth together due to the swelling. Any ideas on what this could be?

u didn t mention u r age...but any way it seems like a infection of gums over erupting 3rd molar(wisdome tooth) and it is quite common in occurence so ...do some warm saline gargle, take some pain killer if it is pain full and visit a dentist as soon as possible as some time it may cause a serious infection....

Yup, that's what it sounds like. Now you now why babies cry when they are teething. The trouble with wisdom teeth is they very often don't get all the way through the gum, this leaves a flap of gum and food particles get stuck underneath and can get infected which is even more painful. Make an appointment with your dentist anyway - he will want to take an xray. Salt water mouthwash is the only remedy I have too. Make it as hot as you can stand it.

U should not worry if it's time for ur wisdom tooth to grow but if it's not time, u might have an infection or u might have been hurt by some thin u ate and i think the best way is to see ur dentist about the problem u are having.

Most likely an abscess. See your dentist, it's completely treatable but will get worse without intervention.

IT SOUNDS LIKE YOUR WISDOM TOOTH WANT TO COME OUT...THATS WHAT HAPPENED TO ME, ENDED UP REMOVING ALL MY WISDOM TEETH BECAUSE THEY WERE IMPACTED. YOU SHOULD DEFENITLY SEE YOUR DENTIST.
