What are some remedies for toothache that anyone knows about? Anything and everything is welcome...I don't care what you say, I just need to know what helpful, gentle and supportive and friendly advice you guys have on this terrible and unjust issue...

Also, does anybody know about the latest advances on dental care and enamel restoration and remineralization of teeth, which is restoring a tooth that is decayed or rotted, like it has a cavity in it? The opposite of that would then likely be called tooth demineralization or tooth decay. Of course, this happens for many reasons and tooth decay and toothache has been plaguing mankind for years. I need sensitive people who are going to anser this question with an understanding and yet honest and decent and mature response, because this is a sensitive issue for all mankind and I need answers as soon and as fast as possible.

So in short, tell me all the advice/solutions for tooth decay and toothache (pain) and remedies...ty so much!!!

Many bad experiences with a sadistic dentist in the early seventies caused my phobia I think. Anybody out there overcome a similar problem?

A toothach, he went to the Dentist and the dentist took x-rays and couldn't find anything. He guess it may be a problem with the filling on the tooth, so he replaced it. Today dad is experencing severe sharp and dull pain through out the bottom half of his jaw. He says it feels like the needles are still in his gum. Well now he is running a 100 degree temp. I am scared what could this be?
Also he has no open sores on his gums and barley any redness!

When I fly, i get shooting pains in a certain area of my mouth. It's similar to the pain you get if you have a cavity and a metal utensil touches that tooth. It makes flying extremely unpleasant. I read that some people can experience this and that its similar to the pain some people get when they go deep sea diving. The pain starts about 20 minutes after take off and goes away as the plane starts to descend. Does anyone else experience this and know what the problem might be?

like chipped teeth and wisdom teeth

2007-01-19 10:41:24 · 21 answers · asked by Anonymous

I am 34 yrs old, a mom of two....and just found out today I need all 4 wisdom teeth out. Not a total shock...they've been there for years and I knew this would happen.
My bottom two are in sideways and impacted. They will require a specialist. The top two are out and the dentist says he can do it at the office.
Noe, I have a history of anxiety/panic attcks (overcome them but still have the odd issue, mainly with feeling out of control) and have NO problem with pain. I've birthed two kids, first birth a 36 hour mess of 4 hours pushing.....the second one natural at home no meds etc.....you get the picture, I am ok with pain.
I am terrified of the idea of general anestethic. Dentist and hygenist say no issue, local is fine. My conecrn is, will I be ok? Will I hear them yanking and freak out? How bad does it get? I wantto bring my MP3 with me possibly....close the eyes.........the whole thing has me freaking out a bit now...........

Help?

I was told I have TMJ syndrome by my physician 6 months ago. Since then I have been back and forth to the dentist.
I was told about the surgery that it causes more problems than what it's worth, but I am desperate. I really think about it sometimes.
What does everyone else think about this or has anyone had this surgery?
I have been prescribed IB Prophin for inflamation and Darvaset for pain. I also have a retainer I wear all the time. I have had this retainer for about 3months.
My jaw is still locked up and doesn't really feel like it's gonna un-lock anytime soon. My dentist really don't know what to do. He thought this retainer would work, and it hasn't.
He said that I will have this for the rest of my life and it will lock and unlock as it pleases. Well 5 months of having this and it hasn't unlocked not once.
Does anyone have any opinions or has anyone had this surgery or have the same problems as I do?
Someone help please, I don't wanna live off of IB Prophin and Darvasets!?!

I had a little plaque build up around the area. Today I felt like something was in my tooth so I was messing with it, trying to get it out. Then a piece of hard substance came out. I immediately brushed my teeth. Now my top right lateral incisor looks as if it has a little hole in it. Please help me. I am going to try to go to the dentist on Monday but I need some information about what is going on NOW!!! Thanks

Is the patient cognitive at all when having this? Does he/she know what he/she is saying or what people are doing to them?

What are the steps of procedure? Im having my wisdom teeth removed am worried about altering my consciousness(sp?) I don't drink or do drugs so this idea of altering my perception of reality is kind of scary to me.

I recently went to a new dentist because I had switched healthcare. I was fairly certain I had a cavity as I had pain and the tooth had a dark anomoly. I also knew from experience I would need a good scraping since I hadn't been in well over a year. Strangely, I was the only patient and the dentist himself took me back for the cleaning. He shot x-rays and started the cleaning-himself! (I've ALWAYS had a tech do it) He basically tapped each tooth with the pointed thing and said I was finished because I kept them clean.(I hadn't been flossing AT ALL) I asked about the cavity. He said there was nothing on the film and the dark patch was an old silver filling . I think I have aways requested the white stuff. I asked about the pain and he said it might be starting to fail but I had at least a year. I am going to another dentist (paying out of pocket since that was my yearly) but I don't think this guy should be in business. ? Dentists respond? Go to BBB?Punch his teeth out?

About 2 months ago, I bit down on a potato chip and broke off about 1/3 of my left upper molar. There is a good sized "hole", and it looks grayish in color. (I snuck a peek with a little mirror) It only hurts every once in a while, but when it hurts, it hurts bad!! I have no insurance, and there is no way I can afford more than maybe $25 a month as a payment. Any suggestions??

I have an overbite, my upper teeth go over my bottoms but not completely. But my two front teeth do not stick out. Is this still considered an overbite or just the way my jaw/mouth is aligned?
