I was told yesterday by a VitalDent office in NYC that I needed almost 20,000 worth of dental work in order to repair my mouth. I have no insurance and no family to help me. I'm in college and living off student loans and a bad part-time job. Maybe someone else has been in this sort of position before and can offer me some advice on a way out. Thanks !

So, I have bad teeth.

It all started when I was pregnant with my kids, I don't know what happend, but my teeth started to break and go bad.

Yes, I brush and floss my teeth on a daily basis, I just quit smoking, but they still keep breaking.

I'm gonna be 28 years old, and I have already had several teeth pulled. It's really messing with my self esteem.

Any thoughts?

I recently got braces and my ortho gave me a pamphlet that says I cannot drink hot drinks nor eat extremely cold things like ice cream. I have never heard this before. What could be the reason for this?

Hi all. I would like to get started on Invisalign (or other orthodontic procedures), but I will be relocating to another state in the coming months. What would be the best course of action for my situation?

Did this help or make things worse?
I've heard that it makes things worse and it's dangerous, because the implants can burst.
Also I've heard that you have more pain with this than you do just living with the TMJ pain.

I had my two bottom wisdom teeth out on Monday. They were VERY impacted, so part of the bone was also removed. I've been feeling a lot better the last two days, but I'm getting this really bad taste in my mouth coming from the socket (sour and salty).

Did this happen to anyone else?
When will it go away?

Do you think that Airborne works? I have been taking it for a couple of days and THINK I feel better, but has anyone felt better faster from it or is it just hype?

I have been using Crest ProHealth Mint toothpaste for about 6 weeks now. This toothpaste is so strong it keeps my lips and corner of mouth cracking and bleeding . At first, because of the time of the year, I thought it might be cold sores. So I doctored and doctored. It didnt clear up. Then the light bulb went off and I discontinued the toothpaste. A few days later my mouth was cleared. Then dummy me, thinking this all was a coincidence, I started using the toothpaste again. My mouth started cracking and bleeding all-over again. Maybe my lips are extra sensitive, I dont know. All I know is now you have the word and I am curious if anyone else has had this problem. Crest is really pushing this stuff. Also the after taste is terrible.

I'm courious, medically , do breath mints really work for the breath? There are so many out there, some that even taste like "candy," so how can one little piece of mint relieve bad breath? When brush and flossing is necessary to remove plaque. Isn't plaque one of the reasons for bad breath? And if so, how long are they expected to last?

I just got braces yesterday and fell asleep fine but in the middle of the night I woke up and had a really bad toothache, I took pain relever but it took an hour for the pain to go away. My teeth still hurt now (not as bad) and I can't go to school because I can't really talk. I've tried eating apples but my teeth are too sensitive. What are some healthy soft things I can eat? (besides fruits)

My teeth have become very sensitive since I started using an electric toothbrush. My mid-day, I can hardly talk at work. I started using Sensodyne toothpaste about 4 days ago (twice a day at the moment). It is not working yet, but is it too soon to seen an improvement. I am not registered with a dentist at the moment, so cannot visit one unless in an emergency. I don't want to waste their time, only to be told to carry on using the sensodyne toothpaste. Anybody else suffer with this? Should I give the toothpaste a bit more time to work??

I am deciding whether or not to get braces or go with lumineers. If anyone has any opinion on this subject, I would really appreciate it. I would like to know price, and what goes into getting either procedure done.

For the 7 or 8 I have noticed white spot on the inside of my mouth in my cheek area and the border of my tongue is slighty raised. I was just wondering if it is for me biting my cheeks and for my tongue rubbing againts my teeth. I kinda of have an over biting could this be the problem?
