I have full uppers baby and I LOVE THEM! I started having trouble when I was pregnant, too. Then I had weight loss surgery and my body does not absorb the calcium like it used to and my teeth got really bad. I could not see spending over 25K to fix them when they would just get bad again. I am currently looking at getting my lowers soon.
My self esteem went through the roof, I get compliments all the time on how beautiful my smile is and how lucky I am to have such great teeth LOL Oh well my lil secret.
If you find a dentist that says no, go to another. Of course they will say no when they make A LOT more money off of repairs then dentures!
Feel free to email if you have questions!

First things first. If your missing a few teeth - visit a prosthodontist office. They are specialists that deal with all crowns, bridges, implants, dentures, etc. A general dentist can do the job as well, however I've seen some horrifying work done by dentists that make wrong decisions.
Most of my patients that have dentures are not happy with them at all. Implants are the way to go - yes they are expensive so I suppose it also has alot to do with your finances. You can always get dentures now, and later on down the road have implant supported dentures. Implants they place into your bone in your mouth and than the denture connects to the implants with excellent retension so the dentures will not move around and you won't have to use any glue to keep them in your mouth!
Good Luck! I'm sure its a tough decision.

Dentures are a serious undertaking. You have to be prepared both emotionally and physically for them. I also lost all of my teeth due to pregnancy complications and have successfully worn full dentures for over 6 years. Your self esteem is a very important consideration as well as your financial situation.
Dentures can be a very good substitute for damaged or missing teeth. Find a dentist that you are comfortable with and ask direct questions, seek a second opinion on all procedures. Also, if you are going to get dentures, try to avoid a full lower right now, see if they can preserve a few key teeth on the bottom to make that denture more stable and retentive.
Feel free to e-mail me if you want to discuss any of this or have questions.

hi there, hope u are doing fine!I am a dentist and u as an alert patient better not ask for a treatment plan on ur teeth from ppl who dont have academic eucation in this reagard. The most immediate measure u have to take is to reffer to a reliable dentist.as what a friend said full dentures are the last resort!u might have to take some preventive measures to strengthen ur teeth or may be ur gum structure which are definitely affected by both smoking and pregnancy.A calculus reduction and scaling also seems essential.dont hesitate to ask any question here,i would be happy....wish u luck...

What a lame query! Why might one even ask that? Of direction humans kiss with dentures/ No large deal. The rough facet of approximately getting dentures is AFTER the truth. Of direction your are sedated and not anything goes to harm. Later being used in your normal tooth being long gone and the sensation of this new" overseas" item for your mouth might be the rough facet .

Yeah, it's worth it. I wouldn't get bottoms right now, you're young and it changes the way your mouth lays across them. Kids, they take it outta ya! It is expensive and most dental insurance will not cover if it's cosmetic. Most dentists want to fill and save every last tooth till the end, my uppers were crazy filled(more fill than tooth)and they still hurt, cracked, got abcess and drained in your mouth. I was so done with it, I called around got prices, cried at the prices, resolved to drive 150 miles to a dentist that was way cheaper to have the teeth pulled. I worked a deal with the Denturist for his part, he was kind to my situation and not just in it for the money. I feel so good about smiling and showing people that I really am a happy person, you just couldn't tell cuz I wouldn't let you see my teeth, hands over mouth when talking, hands over mouth when laughing. Good luck in your search.

Get the dentures unless you can afford all the cosmetic cost and raising kids is an expense in itself. Children during pregnancy drain the body of calcium. Geez, my husband has been wearing themfor 47 yrs. You can too. He was 16 when he got them.

There are a whole set of other issues when you get dentures. You might to discuss it with your dentist first. I think dentures should be a last resort, but discuss it with your dentist or orthodontist.
