Some soreness is to be expected for several days to a week or so. It just depends on the condition of the teeth that were extracted. Some people feel better the first day if the teeth were mobile and had been hurting from the movement. Some may have had surgery to remove them from the bone and take longer to heal. So here is some standard advice for extractions. To be safest and relieve any doubt that you may have, just call your dentist or surgeon, they will be happy to help you.
Here are some tips: Try to rinse 3-4 times a day with really warm salt water. Use care when brushing so you don't brush that area. Also with these being back teeth, you need to exercise your jaw. Try stretching your mouth open and close over and over, getting a little wider each time but don't force yourself. This really helps with the pain and soreness you may experience from holding your mouth open during the extractions and their removal from the surrounding bone. Avoid hard or crunchy food for a week or so until you can tell the tissue is healed over.
Now sometimes it's not normal to have pain. I can't look to see, and don't know how difficult the extractions were, so I'm just going on what you have described. But occasionally the tissue becomes infected or it doesn't clot over and develops a dry socket. You can usually tell this if it becomes painful, swollen, fowl smell and taste in your mouth. If this is the case you will need to go back to the Dentist to have the area cleaned out and packed off. He will also place you on antibiotics, pain med's and advise you to take Advil or Motrin.
Hope I've been of some help here, good luck!

sometimes other people had sore gums until 1 week. others don't have sore. maybe you must refrain from carrying too heavy things it will bleed. do not drink too hot water as it may open the blood vessels and it will bleed again. don't suck on o straw cause the sipping action will trigger the bleeding.
>3 teeth? oh it's too many teeth to be taken out. maybe it will really sore. yap that's normal. try to put ice pack on that sore area because it will help the blood vessels in that area to constrict. ice is also helpful whenever you have tooth aches...
>good luck get well soon!

hiya yea, teeth and gum problems are common in pregnancy, don't know where your from, but in uk you get free dentistry when pregnant and just after having a baby, must be why? i had alot of problems with teeth in last pregnancy, but had fear of the dentist lol! which was silly, and where ignored all the pains hoping would go away, have now been, now my baby's nearly three months old,and had to have an extraction and loads of fillings! ouch, am guessing if he thinks you had gingivitis hes given you something for it,try that and if pain persits definatly worth going back, dont leave it like i did! good luck! :-)

Wisdom teeth? They take at least a week; mine healed quicker (only 3 days) but only because I heal very quickly compared to a lot of people.
If just molars then give it a few more days but if still there, go back and tell them because it could be an infection...better safe than sorry.

Yes, you will have slight bruising which may take a week to start to heal. I had my wisdom tooth yanked and my gum was sore for a week. As long as it is not swelling or unduly painful. But if you want assurance which is a good thing then ring up your dentist and he/she can give you advice.
