threre is a general shape that is associated with each tooth. for example your maxillary (top) central incisors are going to have 1 root with a general oval shape cross section of the pulp canal; and your molars are generally going to have two roots with a general shape. However your genetic makeup will determine the specifics of that shape. While it will follow the basic guidelines of the general pulp canals, every person is going to have a unique pulp canal.

In addition if you look at 3rd molars (wisdom teeth), there are a variety of shapes and number of roots depending of the genetic makup of that person. Therefore your genetic makeup does determine the shape of your pulp canal while following a basic guideline.

YES IT IS, AS IS THE ACTUAL SHAPE OF THE TEETH THEMSELVES. FOR EXAMPLE, A LION'S TEETH ARE SHAPED MUCH DIFFERENT THAN A COW'S TEETH.
WHY?
THEY EAT TOTALLY DIFFERENT THINGS. HENCE THEIR TEETH ARE MADE TO EAT DIFFERENT DIETS.
