I am bracing (ha) for the cost of possibly 2 children with braces within the next 3-5 years. My Dental plan covers all out of pocket expensives, but nothing.0% on braces. I cannot add it either. Therefore, I am looking into the possibility of an individual plan that at least covers some of the expense. Has anyone had a similar delema..........is it worth it? Any good experiences with a plan? Or should I start putting away $20 a week now into an aggressive stock fund?

I had a room canal done about 10 years ago and the last couple of days feels like that tooth is hurting. thought it was the one beside it but now I'm almost positive it is that tooth. Can you get pain years after having a rootcanal. Can you get an infection or something in the tooth. Just wondering.

I have a wisdom tooth that needs to come out, unfortunately for me the needles the dentist give you to numb the area while a tooth extraction is taking place DONT WORK. I have never been in so much pain when having a previous moler out, and this has put me off my dentist, i warned him it wouldnt work but he carried on regardless. I would rather not go back to my dentist if possible, i would much rather see my gp. any thoughts??

I had my wisdom teeth (all 4) out Friday. I have had some pain and finally came back to work today and feel almost better. Here is the problem - i smoke. I smoked a cigarette yesterday for the first time since surgery. I didn't inhale (suck) very hard at all. I did smoke today too. Would I have gotten a dry socket by now? Am I in the clear?

i went to the dentist and he said i have to have all 4 wisdom teeth taken out . they have to cut it out of my gums because they haven't come through the gum yet cos there was no room for them to come through . so when the dentist was going through what i needed he said that i might lose feeling in my mouth for 3 months or maybe even forever. has this happened to anyone else?

im currently on a waiting list at the local hospital to get my teeth straightened, it seems like its going to be quite a big procedure, i need to wear a brace for 18 months then get my top and bottom jaw reset, then get a brace for a further 6 months, it sounds daunting but really want my teeth to be straight, anybody know anybody thats had it done? what the risks are? and how successfull the outcome is? Thanks

i have gum disease and have lost most of my back teeth, i have had root treatment on the three i have left. I have a cap on one of my teeth and one of my front teeth is loose. I seem to suffer one infection after an other and have an awful taste coming from these teeth and suffer from bad breath i am at the end of my tether with this as it is so embarasing my dentist seems to just want to do root treatment but i end up losing the teeth eventually im so desperate that im thinking of just getting them pulled and hopefully resolve the bad breath i would like to know what options i have as i dont want to have teeth that come in and out any advice would be gratefully accepted

There were unqualified dentists working in Germany and confusingly these were called "dentists" as opposed to the official German word "Zahnarzt", but no new ones have been allowed to practise for approximately forty years (maybe longer).

I'm 20 years old and have had my braces off since I was 14; I've worn my retainer every night to bed(religiously). My dentist has never told me to stop using the retainer, but I'm wondering if anyone knows if my teeth would shift drastically if I just stopped wearing the retainer all at once. I don't want to be 40 years old and still putting in my mouthpiece when I go to bed....

The 2 wisdom teeth on the top have grown fully and the bottom are about halfway out. Does everyone have to get them removed? or do some people keep 2 of them and remove 2 or what?

Do women prefer just a little crooked yellow natural teeth or white straight fake teeth?

If you could, please include your race and location. So I can see whether culture makes any difference..

In the very back of my mouth (behind all other teeth that have come in) my gum has gotten very swollen on top (where a tooth would come up). It is also very tender and that area of my jaw (bottom left) is sore, not sharp pain, just a little ache-y. I recently got Xrays to see where my wisdom teeth were, and when they should be coming in. I don't remember how soon the doctor said, but I do remember seeing them very close to the surface (like six months ago, at least what I thought was close to the surface). I have a dentist appointment next week, but I'm wondering if this is normal for incoming wisdom teeth or if I should be concerned.

I just got the braces today, but is this normal?

Theres no room in my mouth for my wisdom teeth to grow in, so I am getting them cut out in a couple weeks. The dentist is giving me ativan before the procedure..Has anyone ever taken ativan before a dental procedure such as this..and does it help? I'm really scared it's going to hurt...so any wisdom teeth extraction stories would be helpful. Thanks :)
