I'm kinda nervous.. I don't want it in there lol... I've seen white pieces in there that basically disapeared after a while.. I just noticed the white piece in my mouth.. it's pretty loose but the hole is pretty big so it either just lays on the top or goes down a little more but none the less ive just brushed my teeth and rinsed my mouth out about 5 or 6 times with listerine and its still there.. it really looks like a piece of turkey lol to be quite honest. I'm not sure if I should just try to pick it out with a pair of tweezers or a tooth pick or what. I mean I dont want to risk any infection, but I also don't want to risk dry socket.

You really need to see the Dentist who removed the teeth. This could be a dry socket, in which case the bone is showing. Or it could be just the color of the blood clot. You are supposed to let the clot alone. and don't eat any turkey until the place where the tooth was heals up. If it is a dry socket the dentist will pack the hole with cotton. Good luck.

I had all 4 of my wisdom teeth removed on January 5th..and this same thing happened to me. It looked like a piece of chicken that I had eaten and I was scared it would interfere with the healing process. I rinsed and rinsed and it still wouldn't come out, so I decided to leave it. After a few days, I noticed it had gone..and nothing bad happened. I healed up, didn't get dry socket, and am in perfect condition now. I wouldn't worry about it too much...but good luck with everything, I hope your pain isn't too bad :)

it could either be a piece of food, or a pice of the ligament that holds the tooth in place. sometimes, after an extraction, pieces of the ligament will come through the gums. this is normal, and will eventually come out on its own. but, if it becomes painful, you'll have to call your dentist so he can take care of it. rinse your mouth out a couple times, if it dosent come out just by rinsing, keep an eye on it, but dont worry.

My daughter just had her removed. Her oral surgeon said that there can be tooth and tissue fragments that will dislodge on there own. I would leave it alone, the hole will eventually fill in with your gum tissue. If your surgeon gave you a syringe to keep it clean be sure to use it as directed. Whatever you do try not to pick at it and be sure to keep your follow up visits.

I was in this situation before!

Rinse your mouth with water!

Gently rub hole to see if it can comes off...

If not...leave it alone...

But I was told by dentist that I gotta rinse my mouth before and after you brush your teeth...

Perhap in your case, it's different than mine...call your dentist and tell 'em...

Lemme know!

Why don't you have gauze in your socket? My Dr. put some kind of stuffing in mine and I couldn't eat for days, then I got dry socket, talk about pain.
