We had our Christmas party this evening. I was chewing on a piece of meat that had a hard gristle in it-which caused shooting pains in my tooth after biting on it. That tooth hasn't stopped hurting since. It's very sensitive and throbbing. Should I be concerned or might this go away?

I've had my retainer on tonight and you know those top two brackets that shape over your teeth? I noticed that one of them kind of sticks out a little more outward. What is this due to? I've had a retainer that I wear a good majority of the day since i had my braces off several months ago, and im being checked out in January. I'm really worried that my teeth are going to shift because of the front bend of the retainer. Is it going to do that? The bracket im talking about kind if touches over my top lip a bit when I smile now, and I notice it. Am I obsessing maybe?

I think I have a cavity. How much more does it cost for white fillings instead of the old metal ones? Say I have a co-pay of $10, how much on top of that is it to upgrade to the white/ceramic (i forget what they're made out of) fillings?

I have a lump in the roof of my mouth that has been there for about four months. It doesn't hurt or anything, it's just there where it wasn't before. I used to smoke but I haven't for about six months. I would go to a doc or dentist but I don't have insurance or a whole lot of cash to go unless I am sure that I should be alarmed. Any advice?

I had 4 of my wisdom teeth removed 16 days ago, and my surgeon told me not to chew hard foods for 4-5 weeks following surgery, because the weakened jaw bone can be accidentaly broken. Now I am afraid to chew at all. A piece of boiled cauliflower that wasn't soft enough crunched in my teeth and nearly made me to believe that I've got a jaw fracture already. I know it sounds silly, but... Does a person really know when he or she gets a jaw fracture?

i was brushing my teeth, then i just started walking around upstairs. i went to the play room and started looking at my old toys and books and all my old memories. the toothbrush was still in my mouth. then all of a sudden, i sneezed. i didn't want the toothpaste to fall on the ground, so i put my head up instead, and the toothpaste went in my mouth by accident. i tryed to get it out by coughing, but no use..... i went to look at the toothpaste tube, and it said contact the poison control thing if swallowed.

but am i gonna die if i did swallow it?
