I think I have a cavity. How much more does it cost for white fillings instead of the old metal ones? Say I have a co-pay of $10, how much on top of that is it to upgrade to the white/ceramic (i forget what they're made out of) fillings?

They're called composite fillings or "porcelain" fillings. I pay a $5 co-pay and the rest is free no matter which 'color' filling I get. Your insurance could be different.

i started out with silver fillings, then asked my dentist if i could get white and if it cost more or not and he said that white doesnt cost anymore then silver..but if your looking to change your silver to white, they cant get all the silver out, so your teeth will still have some of the silver on the outer layer inside your teeth..all the rest of my fillings are now white and they look great..
