why after burning your tongue does it feel fuzzy?

you know that feeling...it just feels like you've got fuzz on it. anybody know why? and no made up answers please...i'm really wondering.

I would think it is because damage was done to the papilla. They may be inflammed.

the burn shocks your taste buds, but they do eventually regain composure and everything goes back to normal. electricity, food that is too cold (ice cream), etc. all have that same effect.
